The Quakertown Community High School Cross Country team concluded their DUAL MEET season with a dual loss to Wissahickon High School on the Trojans home course.

The silver lining in both races were the setting of season bests for several of QCHS student/athletes, which should bode well leading up to Friday's league meet.

In the boys race, the Panthers were led by junior John Juszynski (2nd), in a time of 17:15, followed by Junior David Pyfer (4th), in 17:21, both are personal records for each boy. Junior Chester Welliver (8th, 18:53) was the last Panther to place in the TOP 10, but were unable to overtake Wissahickon's top 5, losing by a score of 22-47. Their record this season finished at 0-5.

Souderton fell to neighborhood rival NP 20-36.  The Indians were led by Aiden Maue’s 3rd place finish.  Both schools will compete in the SOL Championship on Friday at Souderton.

 

Girls

In the girls race, the Lady Panthers avoided a shutout, led by senior Rylie Murphy (5th), in a time of 22:19, followed by an outstanding performance by junior Sara Nouri (7th) in 23:15, followed by senior Paige Daugherty (10th), in 24:07, but not enough to overcome Wissahickon taking the first four places, losing by a score of 45-16. Their record for the season finished at 1-4.
