SOL Boys/Girls Cross Country Wrap (10-8-16)

Check out some of the top SOL performances in this weekend’s cross country invitationals. 

61st WILLIAM TENNENT CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL (@ William Tennent)
Neshaminy junior Rusty Kujdych won the individual title at the William Tennent Cross Country Invitational, posting a time of 15:19.70. Council Rock North junior Ryan Campbell was second with a time of 15:40.30, and William Tennent junior Sean Rahill finished third with a time of 15:41.50. Council Rock North finished first out of 19 squads in the team standings with 32 points, and Central Bucks West was second with 96 points.
On the girls’ side, Abington senior Kelly Jawork captured the individual title with a time of 19:11.50. Hatboro-Horsham senior Hannah Knudsen was second (19:22.50) while William Tennent junior Lynne O’Connor was third (19:26.50). Council Rock South finished first out of 21 schools with 91 points, and Council Rock North was second (130 points).

9th ANNUAL SOUDERTON TWILIGHT INVITATIONAL (@ Souderton)
Souderton senior Connor McMenamin won the meet and set a new course record of 15:37.55 at the Souderton Twilight Invitational. Also earning medals for the Indians – who finished second behind Boyertown with 44 points - were Joe Breen (2nd, 16:26.71), Paul Boehm (6th, 16:39.42), Josiah Moyer (16th, 17:10.34), and Brian Bruno (19th, 17:18.65). Wissahickon placed third out of six teams with 77 points. Top finishers for the Trojans were Ben Hoyer (4th, 16:32.73), Matt Maiale (8th, 16:53.79) and Nathan Leung (18th, 17:13.30).

On the girls’ side, Central Bucks West won the team title with 43 points, and Pennridge was second out of seven teams with 47 points. Souderton junior Emily Bonaventure won the individual title with a time of 18:48.51, finishing more than 10 seconds ahead of the second place finisher, Boyerton senior Gillian Kasitz, who crossed the finish line in 18:59.48.
