Upper Moreland Splits Season Opener
The Upper Moreland Cross Country team had their first meet of the 2020 Cross Country season at New Hope-Solebury. The boys team lost 50-15, but the duo of juniors Souhail Hadjali and Kieran Coll fared well against the much deeper NHS team. Hadjali and Coll finished 11th and 13th respectively and competed the entire race.
The Upper Moreland girls team beat New Hope-Solebury 15-50 in their first contest of the season. Freshman Emily Meyers was the team's top finisher followed by senior Chloe Kramer and junior Isabella Montiero. Seniors Nydia Johnson and Margaret Korol and junior Leila Hadjali rounded out the UM squad. It was the first girls team win in a few years and Head Coach Dean Bond was happy for the girls. "The girls worked hard today and got our first team win in a while. This was the first race for a lot of the girls and they did well."
