SOL Boys/Girls Lacrosse Wrap (4-1-14)

WISSAHICKON 15, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 2
Pat Magdalinski led a balanced Trojan attack with three goals and two assists. Neal Guaglianone added the hat trick while Nate Degroat had two goals and one assist. Six players – Luke Gomez, John Carrozza, Jack Shea, John Esposito, Tyler Zapach and Austin Jones – contributed a goal and an assist. Alex Ortiz added a single goal to close out the scoring for the Trojans, who led 3-0 after one period and took a 9-1 lead into halftime.
Alex DeCarlo and Austin Betterly accounted for PW’s goals.
Wissahickon’s Jack Myers (seven saves) and Noah Katz (two saves) combined for nine saves in goal. Riley White turned away 10 shots for the Colonials.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 8, NORTH PENN 4

The Patriots defeated the Knights in league play Tuesday afternoon by a score of 8-4 at North Penn.  NP struck first at 11:01, but CBE scored three quick goals to take 3-1 lead at the end of one quarter of play. CBE shut out North Penn in the second and found the back of the net two more times taking a 5-1 lead into halftime.
East tallied three more goals in the third, and North Penn added one making it 8-3 at the end of three quarters of play. North Penn played a zone defense and packed it in tight, and CBE seemed content not to press in the fourth. North Penn added one more goal in the fourth making it 8-4 CB East for the final.  
Leading CB East in scoring was Matt Schmidt with three goals. Sean McGovern had eight saves for East.  CB East moves to 5-1 overall (3-0 in SOL play). Up next for CB East is Souderton on Friday for the 4th road game in a row.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 12, PENNRIDGE 5
Hatboro-Horsham won on the road versus Pennridge by a score of 12-5 in a SOL Continental matchup. Nick Paci (3 goals), Brendan Mulligan (3 goals), Zach Erwine (2 goals), Tony Zollo (2 goals), and Pierre Armstrong (4 assists) led the Hatters offensively.
Matt McPoyle and Matt Reamer each contributed one goal as Pat Haggerty and Logan Eldridge each tallied one assist. Jake Cresta and Keith Cameron were solid on defense for the Hatters along with goalie Marc Poust (eight saves on nine shots). Kurt Dick turned away six of nine shots he faced in goal. Cresta led the team with four ground balls.
The Hatters are back in action Thursday night as they travel to CB West HS against CB South (7:00PM).

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 11, SOUDERTON 6
The Bucks sprinted to a 4-1 lead at the end of one period and took an 8-2 lead into halftime on their way to Tuesday night’s win.
Clark Hawes led the Bucks with four goals while Reece Udinski added the hat trick. Lucas Janos, Jimmy Seykot, Kevin Ernst and Will Ross all added single goals. Seykot also had a pair of assists while Ernst and O’Hara both had one assist.
Cameron Trick led the Indians with a pair of goals. Drew Nice, Corey Anlauf, Nick Anderson and Greg Gibbs each added single goals. Gibbs, Anthony Potts and Anderson also had one assist.
Mike Harvan was credited with 14 saves in goal for the Bucks while Souderton’s Remi Reeves turned away 16 shots.
Tim Kiel led the Bucks’ defense with 10 ground balls. Luke Durkin won 13-of-19 face-offs.

DEVON PREP 6, HARRY S TRUMAN 5
Zach Bennett was credited with 24 saves in a standout performance in goal for the Tigers. Thomas Hirsch led the defense with five takeaways. Matt Foden contributed one goal and two assists to lead the Tigers' attack.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 16, JENKINTOWN 9
Maggie Stella (five goals, four assists), Lauren Burrell (four goals, one assist) and Julia Norek (three goals, three assists) led the Patriots offensively. East also received important contributions from Katelyn Stout (two goals, one assist), Alex Law (one goal, one assist) and Betty Wesney (one goal, one assist).
Alana Rivas turned away 10 shots in goal for the Patriots. Coach Kelly White lauded the defensive effort of Sara Donnelly.
