BOYS
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 6, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 5 (2 OT)
DOYLESTOWN, PA -- It was "A Tale of Two Halves" at CB West on Monday night as the Bucks hosted the Titans of CB South in a bitterly fought battle that took two overtimes to decide.  In the end, the visiting Titans of CB South prevailed, winning 6-5 on Tyler Strayline's second goal of the night (off a really nice feed from Joel Zimmerman).
The Bucks dominated the first half, spending most of their time in the CB South defensive end of the field.  They got some really nice goals from Riley Kraskie and Jimmy Seykot.  CB South goalie Ryan Kelly made some spectacular saves to keep his team within striking distance.  But as the shot total climbed, the Bucks were able to build a 4-1 halftime lead.
The second half of the game was dominated by the Titans.  Trailing 5-1 going into the fourth quarter, they received goals from Tyler Strayline, Tyler McGee, and Joel Zimmerman to chip away at the lead.  Meanwhile, some nice defensive plays by Tim McCrudden, Connor Bechtel, and Kevin Witchey kept the Bucks off of the scoreboard.  Finally, with less than a minute to play, Brendan McGrath tied the game, sending it into overtime.  Just like his counterpart in the first half, CB West goalie Mike Harvan kept his team alive in the second half.
The first overtime saw some nice saves by both goalies, as both teams pushed for the win.  In the second overtime, Tyler Strayline took a pass from Joel Zimmerman and buried the game winner.
Ryan Kelly made 17 saves to pick up the win with most of those coming in the first half while Mike Harvan was credited with 18 saves in a losing effort, most of them in the second half.

UPPER DUBLIN 9, WISSAHICKON 7
The Trojans gave the Flying Cardinals all they could handle, opening up a 7-4 halftime lead, but the Flying Cardinals responded with a glittering defensive effort, silencing the Trojans’ offense and scoring five unanswered goals in the second half.
“I knew this was going to be a tough game,” coach Dee Cross said. “I have a bunch of new players, and we were down 4-1 and then 5-2 and 7-4.
“At halftime, we just made some adjustments, and basically, I just calmed them down because they were inexperienced. They knew the tradition they were trying to uphold, but it just wasn’t happening. They came out in the second half and shut them out. I was so proud of everybody. It was awesome.”
The difference in the second half, according to Cross, was the Flying Cardinals’ ability to contain Wissahickon’s high-scoring duo of Laura Frankenfield and Zoe Gomez. Senior Samantha Boyd was assigned the task of faceguarding Gomez in the second half, and Kayla McAneney was given the same task on Frankenfield.
“They both did a real nice job,” Cross said. “Neither one of them played varsity last year, so we were just going with someone who understood the concept. Kayla is a basketball player, so that helped.
“Sarah Gallagher, our goalie, had four saves in the second half and seven for the game, and several were on key point blank shots on her at the end of the game that gave her confidence and the whole defense confidence, which was really good.”
Kayla Mullen scored a goal that turned out to be the game winner with eight minutes remaining in regulation, using a Julie Cross assist, and Cross (Taylor D’Ginto assist) added an insurance goal at the 2:30 mark.
“The second half everybody was on the same page,” coach Cross said. “I told them to take care of the fundamentals. We needed to get the ground balls instead of running over the ground balls.
“We just went back to the basics. I said, ‘One goal at a time.’ The momentum started to go our way because we really could not win many draw controls. (Wissahickon’s) Jackie Hibbs was all over the field picking up all the ground balls. Once they saw they could run with them and be a part of the game, the momentum shift really helped us.”
Julie Cross led the Cardinals with three goals and three assists while D’Ginto had two goals and three assists. Mullen and Rachel DiFrangia each had two goals, and Anna Trentini had one assist.
Frankenfield led the Trojans with three goals while Gomez added a pair. Lindsay Anderson and Bailey Weber each had one goal while Taylor Myers had one assist.
