SOUDERTON 4, METHACTON 0
The Indians served notice that they are a team to be reckoned with this season, earning a no-doubt-about-it non-league win at Methacton. The big win avenged last year’s 2-1 loss to the Warriors in their season opener.
Kylie Heath (Ellie Andrade assist) gave the Indians a lead they would not lose when she scored in the 20th minute, and 15 minutes later, Melanie Witter connected, using a Cara McCausland assist. The Indians took that 2-0 lead into the intermission,
A goal by Sarah Cassel in the 60th minute (Kylie Heath assist) upped the Indians’ lead to 3-0, and Meredith Moore closed out the scoring 10 minutes later when she turned an Emily Readinger pass into a goal for the 4-0 final.
“It was a great start to the season,” said coach Chris Felber, crediting his team for its composure in the win. “We knew that we had a lot of younger players coming up last year that are now a year older, and we’re starting to really gel as a team.
“We ended up winning two of our preseason games and only lost 1-0 to Pennsbury, so to come out with a big win like this starts us off on the right foot and really begins to take us to the next level.”

CUMBERLAND VALLEY 4, NESHAMINY 2
The Redskins battled the defending District 3 champions to a 2-2 halftime tie, but Eagles – a perennial state power - scored a pair of unanswered goals to earn the non-league win.
It was the Redskins getting on the scoreboard first in the fourth minute. Alyssa Tobin received the ball at the top of the 18 from Riley Nyhus. Tobin fired a shot on goal that was fumbled by the goalie, and Brooke Mullin was there to follow up, finding the net to spot Neshaminy a 1-0 lead. Mullin turned a Gabby Farrell flick into her second goal. That would be the extent of the Redskins’ scoring.
The Eagles got on the board on an own goal 11:41 into the first half and less than three minutes later came back with a goal by Rachael Dorwart (Kellyanna Hendricks assist). Second half goals by Dorwart and Jessica Bail closed on the scoring in a contest that saw the Eagles hold a slim 12-9 advantage in shots.
Neshaminy keeper Victoria Smith was credited with six saves.

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 5, SPRING-FORD 0
Alex Parasky scored a pair of goals in the opening eight minutes of Saturday morning’s non-league contest to jumpstart the defending district champs, who took a 3-0 lead into halftime on their way to the impressive shutout win.
“Spring-Ford is a good squad,” coach Mike Gorni said. “We caught them early and got a little bit of a jump.
“You’re never sure coming out of preseason because you basically only had a couple of scrimmages and are playing against each other. We were happy to go on the road and get those results.”
Parasky also contributed two assists. Evan Vare had a hand in four goals as well, finishing with three goals and one assist. Justin Chomik contributed an assist.
Saturday’s game marked the beginning of an early stretch that will see the Patriots (1-0) play four games in eight days. East will travel to Pennridge on Wednesday and then will host North Penn on Friday and Pleasant Valley on Saturday.
