SOL Boys/Girls XC PIAA Wrap (11-5-16)

The Council Rock North boys captured the team title at the PIAA Class AAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Hershey.

On the heels of capturing the District One AAA title last weekend, the Council Rock North boys’ team blew away the field at Hershey to win the PIAA Class AAA state title on Saturday. The Indians – who placed five runners in the top 25 in the team competition – finished with 76 points while Carlisle was second with 118 points.

Junior Ryan Campbell was fourth in the team scoring standings with a time of 16:01 to lead the Indians. Senior Bryan Keller (16:28), junior Sam Earley (16:30) and senior Tim Haas (16:30) finished 14th, 16th and 17th respectively. Junior Ethan Koza was 25th with a time of 16:52.

The Central Bucks West boys’ team finished ninth in the field of 20 teams.

The top SOL individual finisher on the boys’ side was Souderton senior Connor McMenamin, who finished sixth overall with a time of 16:00. Also finishing in the top 10 were Campbell, who was seventh overall, and Neshaminy junior Rusty Kujdych (16:14) in 10th place.

On the girls’ side, North Penn finished fifth in the team standings with 190 points. Junior Ariana Gardizy led the Knights, finishing ninth with a time of 18:47. She was the lone SOL runner in the top 10.

Downingtown West senior Aislinn Devlin captured the girls’ individual title with a time of 17:44. On the boys’ side, Carlisle senior Noah Affolder won the individual title with a time of 15:33.
