Anna DiMartile reached a personal milestone, scoring the 100th goal of her outstanding career. The junior’s historic goal was the third of her five in yet another strong outing, and on a night that featured a whole lot of the DiMartile siblings, her sister Bridget DiMartile finished with six goals, one assist and six draw controls.
The Cardinals, who took a 10-6 lead into halftime, outscored the Panther 6-3 in the second half. Thursday’s road game came on the heels of an emotionally charged contest 24 hours earlier against Springfield Twp that saw the Cardinals drop their first game of the season.
It is always tough to play back-to-back games,” UD coach Dee Cross said. “The girls worked hard and got back in the winning column.”
Also for the Cardinals, Paige Dinkel had three goals and three draw controls, and Shannon Connaughton had two goals and one assist. Ava Shohen played the role of facilitator, assisting on five goals to go along with three draw controls. Lily Buckius had one assist.
Emily Darcy had six saves in a winning effort in goal.
For the Panthers, Sunny Draper had a hat trick, Ciara Mory had two goals while Kiera Shaw, Maddie Taylor, Casey Rosenberger and Casey Landis had one goal each. Zoe Smith had an assist.
