HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, UPPER DUBLIN 1 (16-25, 25-12, 25-16, 25-15)
Hatboro-Horsham stayed in the winning column with a drastically improved Upper Dublin squad. The Hatters dropped the first set to the Cardinals’ improved defense and serving and came back to win the next three.

The Hatters offense was led by senior setter Grace Howard with 27 assists and five aces on the line. Helping out on the service line with big nights were senior Ava Santo (6 aces) with senior Abigail Kosmalski and junior Jade Lauzier both adding three to the mix. Seniors Nastya Tsetsko (13) and Isabelle Bombas (8) led the attack with Kayla Jones and Jade Lauzier both adding four. Senior Maci Lumpkin led the defense with 28 receptions and a handful of digs.

Hatboro-Horsham travels to New Hope Solebury Tuesday.

LANSDALE CATHOLIC 3, PENNRIDGE 2

The Lady Rams lost a hard fought five-set match versus Lansdale Catholic on Monday night. After falling down 0-2, the Lady Rams fought back to pull off the reverse sweep but were unable to pull off the comeback, losing set five, 13-15.
Senior Allison Saalfrank again tried to pull off a heroic performance, leading the team in kills, aces, and digs. Freshman outside hitter Caitlyn Kuntz stepped in valiantly in set three and chipped in with several timely kills in the push for a set five.
In the end, the Lady Rams came undone at the end of set five and could not pull out the much-needed victory. Freshman setter Delaney Schwind led the Rams offense in assists while posting a solid night on the defensive end as well.

 

VILLA JOSEPH MARIE 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0

The Jems earned bragging rights in the non-league battle between the neighboring schools.
For the Golden Hawks, Lili Lauch had nine assists and seven digs and Gina Caraccio added eight assists, one block and one kill. Sophia Ranieri (six kills, one block), Avery Vaughan (five kills, two blocks), Edan Kauer (five kills, 13 digs) and Nala Kauer (four kills, one ace, five digs) led the way at the net. Shani Sun had six digs and one kill, and Lindsey Korn had five digs and one ace.

 

GWYNEDD MERCY 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1 (18-25, 29-27, 25-18, 25-20)
The Bucks won the first set only to watch the visiting Monarchs – after eking out a win in the second set – sweeping the next three.

Alexis Barklage (seven kills, six aces, one block), Mackenzie Lund (six kills, two blocks) and Rachel Hu (six kills, nine digs) led the Bucks’ attack. Alexa Lee (10 assists, four kills, one block, seven digs) and Erin Ferello (14 assists, four digs, two aces and one kill) shared setting duties. Caroline Taylor led the defense with 16 digs to go along with one ace.

 

DOWNINGTOWN EAST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 2 (19-25, 20-25, 27-25, 26-24, 15-12)
The Patriots lost a heartbreaker in non-league action Monday, winning the first two sets before dropping the next three tightly contested sets that came down to the wire.

Setter Katie Monaghan distributed 42 assists with two aces, seven digs and one block. Rightside hitter Kat Montabana had one ace, nine kills, six digs and one block. Emily Curran added one block. Mia Mettille (six kills, two aces) and Steph Bahner (seven kills) contributed on the outside.

Sam Sharp (nine kills, five digs, four blocks) and Maddy Ware (three aces, 20 kills, seven blocks, nine digs, one ace) were monsters in the middle, combining for 29 kills and 11 blocks. Defensive specialists Lexi Knorr (one ace, 10 digs), Jenna Irey (four digs), Sophia Shawwa (one dig) and libero Taryn Zakrzewski (one ace, one assist, six digs) contributed defensively.
