SOL National

 

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, PENNSBURY 1 (25-18, 25-19, 22-25, 25-18)

The Indians – with just one regular season match remaining - clinched sole possession of the SOL National crown with their win over the Falcons.

Senior captain Ashleigh Adams was once again all but unstoppable on the outside, slamming down 31 kills to go along with 20 digs, three blocks and two aces. Senior setter Kate Logan handed out 41 assists and also had two digs and one ace. Junior outside hitter Ainsley Jordan added 11 kills, nine digs and two aces while junior opposite Sophie Lentz contributed six kills, three digs, three aces and two blocks. Sophomore libero Emma McNulty added 14 digs, two aces and four assists, and senior setter Becca Wintjen had seven digs and two aces. Senior designated hitter Arushi Singh had three digs and one ace, and senior outside hitter Julia Murphy had one dig. Senior middle hitter Bella Slough had one kill and one block.

Council Rock North (17-0, 11-0 SOL) will travel to William Tennent for its regular season finale on Thursday. Pennsbury (7-7, 6-5) will be on the road at Council Rock South on Thursday. The Indians are ranked second behind Unionville in the latest District One 4A power rankings.

 

SOL Continental

 

PENNRIDGE 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 1

The Rams won a hard-fought match against Central Bucks East on Tuesday night in four sets. The Lady Rams had several key performances, with freshman outside hitter Melissa Hinkson stepping up from the service line, leading the Rams with eight aces. Senior outside hitter Allison Saalfrank and senior right side hitter Mia Smith also played vital roles in the Rams’ win. Junior setter Paige Lipp was the spark the Rams needed defensively, notching several key digs to keep the Rams offense chugging along.  
The Rams (8-12, 5-7 SOL) looks to finish the 2021 campaign on a winning note, facing conference rival CB South on Thursday night.

 

NORTH PENN 3, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1 (25-20, 19-25, 25-9, 27-25)

The Knights moved one step closer to clinching at least a share of the division title with their win over the visiting Bucks.

Senior outside Kae Hanley led the offense in hitter efficiency with 10 kills and three aces. Junior opposite Kiley McTaggart added 11 kills, five aces and 12 digs, and sophomore libero Leila Eid led the defense with 15 digs to go along with one ace and one assist. Senior setter and captain Charlotte Patterson had an excellent all-around game, adding three aces, four kills, 10 digs and 28 assists.

For the Bucks, Alexis Barklage led a balanced attack with seven kills and four aces while Rachel Hu had five kills, three aces and nine digs. Hollis Walton had four kills and two blocks, and Mackenzie Lund added three kills, three aces and one block. Alexa Lee (nine assists, eight digs, two aces, one kill) and Erin Ferello (10 assists, six digs, two aces) shared splitting duties. Caroline Taylor led the defense with 11 digs, four assists and three aces.

North Penn (13-4, 9-3 SOL) – 13th in the latest District One 4A power rankings - will host Upper Dublin on Thursday, and Central Bucks West (5-14, 3-7) will travel to Souderton on Wednesday.

 

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, QUAKERTOWN (25-12, 25-14, 25-17)

 

SOL American

 

HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 1 (25-13, 25-13, 20-25, 25-16)

The Hatters earned another win while visiting New Hope-Solebury. The HH offense was led by senior setter Grace Howard with 38 assists and three aces. Senior outside hitter Nastya Tsetsko had eight kills, junior Kayla Jones with 11, junior Jade Lauzier with six, and senior Isabelle Bombas with four. On the serving line, Jade Lauzier had eight aces with Ava Santo and Kayla Jones adding four and two respectively. The defense was anchored by senior libero Maci Lumpkin with six digs and 24 passing attempts.

Hatboro-Horsham (15-2, 10-1 SOL) hosts PW at home Thursday night for the final match of the season. The Hatters are ranked seventh in the latest District One 4A power rankings. New Hope-Solebury (9-8, 5-6) is ranked second in the latest District One 2A power rankings.

 

ABINGTON 3, WISSAHICKON 0
The Ghosts celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of the visiting Trojans. Honored on Tuesday night were the team’s eight seniors – Sophia Ermigiotti, Izzy Reilly, Erika Knapp, Lila Stonehouse, Sara Boykin, Emilie Zuccato, Sydney Steiner and Alyssa Quesada.

Leading the Ghosts at the net was Lila Stonehouse with 16 kills. Sara Boykin added six kills. Setter Izzy Reilly handed out 23 assists.

Abington (12-6, 9-2 SOL) will travel to New Hope-Solebury on Thursday and will close out its regular season on Friday when the Ghosts will host Gwynedd Mercy Academy in a non-league match. The Ghosts are 16th in the latest District One 4A power rankings.

Wissahickon (2-15, 1-9) will close out its season with a trip to Cheltenham on Thursday.

 

Non-league

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-19, 32-30, 26-24)

The visiting Indians dropped Tuesday’s non-league match to the Mount.

Alex Mazzeo and McKenna Murawski led the Indians’ defense with 21 digs each. Murawski also had a team-high eight kills to go along with one block. Mazzeo also had one ace and one kill. Setter Nikki Hamilton handed out 24 assists and also had 15 digs and two kills. Alli Sauerwald (six kills, one ace, five digs, one block) and Teya McConaha (six kills, one dig) also made important contributions.

Souderton (10-7, 6-4 SOL) will host Central Bucks West on Wednesday. The Indians are ranked 24th in the latest District One 4A power rankings. Twenty-four teams will earn district berths.
