COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-22)
The Indians upped their record to a perfect 8-0 with a sweep of the Panthers. It was their second match of five in a row after returning to action.
The Indians were led by the standout effort of junior outside hitter Ashleigh Adams (19 kills, 18 digs, two aces, one assist, one block). Senior outside hitter Mary Baniewicz added 10 kills, nine digs and one block, and senior middle hitter Julia Walton had three kills, four blocks and one dig. Junior setter Kate Logan handed out 31 assists to go along with seven digs, one ace, one block and one kill. Senior libero Mikayla Adams contributed 14 digs, one assist, one ace and one kill. Senior outside hitter Cora Lake had three kills, and senior middle hitter Sabrina Pasemann added three kills, one dig and one block. Sophomore opposite hitter Ainsley Jordan had one kill, one ace, eight digs, one assist and one block. Junior setter Becca Wintjan (one dig), junior outside hitter Julia Murphy (two digs), junior middle hitter Bella Sloth (one dig) and junior defensive specialist Arushi Singh (four digs) also contributed.
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-12)
The Patriots wrapped up a busy week with a sweep of the Indians.
“This was a nice team win to end the week,” coach Kerri Rabberman said. “It was a week filled with games every day and adversity as well. Unfortunately, one of our seniors Ava (Napoletano) went down with an injury during warm-ups before the match. We changed the line-up and all rallied together for her and pulled out a great team win.”
For the Patriots, Sophia Mettille had 11 assists, one ace and six digs. Katie Monaghan had seven assists, two aces, two kills and four digs. Aimee Wolf had three kills and Anna Huchko added one block. Caroline Eldringhoff had three aces, five kills, one block and three digs. Chloe Mettille added five aces and eight digs. Kat Montabana contributed three kills and two digs. Kaylynn Bryan had one ace, six kills and one dig. Olivia Bennett had one kill and two digs.
Taryn Zakrzewski added four aces, eight digs and passed a 2.5.
For the Indians, Alyssa Reiner had five kills, one ace and seven digs, and McKenna Murawski added two kills and seven digs. Nikki Hamilton had seven assists and two aces, and Gwen Anderson had four assists.
“We worked hard to clean up our serve and pass game in this match, but ultimately came up short,” Souderton coach Cori Watson said. “We will be working hard in practice to clean up these aspects of our game, and we expect that being more efficient in these areas will help us become more competitive in our final match this season.”
HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 1 (19-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-20)
The Hatters – who already clinched the SOL American title – kept their perfect conference record intact, and despite the outcome, PW coach Dave Stewart was pleased with his team’s performance.
“PW started the match showing a tone of heart after a tough loss to Upper Dublin on Wednesday,” the Colonials’ coach said. “Over the course of the match, Hatboro-Horsham regained composure and started to play more in system volleyball which made it difficult for PW to stay with them. PW made adjustments to the Hatboro attack and fought to a 20-25 loss in set four.”
