WILLIAM TENNENT 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (25-10, 25-20, 25-9)

The Panthers upped their record to 5-4 in conference play with a sweep of the Tigers.

“The girls played a solid overall match with good energy,” Tennent coach Brian Bassler said.

The Panthers were led by Julia Richard with nine assists and seven service aces. Izzy Goebel also had nine assists. Allyson Brown and Meredith Johnston led the way up front with six kills each. Addy Criss (eight digs), Marguax Kellum (six digs) and Maggie McGlynn (four digs) led the back row.

William Tennent is 9-6 overall while Harry S Truman is 1-14 (0-9 SOL)

 

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, BENSALEM 0

The Golden Hawks’ sweep of the Owls was a team effort with contributions up and down their lineup.

Setters Lili Lauch (one ace, five digs, eight assists) and Gina Caraccio (one kill, two blocks, seven assists) combined for 15 assists. Mattie Melekos (five kills, two blocks), Avery Vaughan (three aces, four kills, two blocks), Edan Kauer (one ace, four kills, five digs), Nala Kauer (four aces, three kills) and Cadence Palmer (one ace, two kills) took care of business at the net. Lindsey Korn contributed to a strong service game with four aces and also led the defense with eight digs.

Council Rock South is 7-2 in the conference (10-3 overall). Bensalem is 1-5 in conference play and 1-7 overall.

 

SOL Colonial

 

CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, QUAKERTOWN 0 (26-24, 25-12, 25-15)

The Patriots celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of the Panthers. Middles Emily Curran (two blocks, two kills) and Brooke Bishop (one block, two kills, two aces) contributed at the net, and rightside hitter Kat Montabana had two aces, three kills and seven digs. Setter Lexi Knorr had 10 assists and two aces while outsides Jenna Irey (two kills, nine digs) and Chloe Mettille (three aces, five kills, one assist, 18 digs) both were major contributors. Defensive specialist Sophia Shawwa added one kill and two digs, and libero Taryn Zakrzewski had two aces and four digs.

Central Bucks East maintains its top spot in the conference standings with a 7-1 record (9-4 overall). Quakertown is 2-12 overall.

 

SOUDERTON 3, PENNRIDGE 0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-16)

Alyssa Reiner led the Indians to a sweep of the visiting Rams, slamming home 15 kills to go along with four aces, three digs and two blocks.

Alli Sauerwald added seven kills as well as two aces and two digs. Alexa Mazzeo led the defense with 11 digs to go along with two assists and one ace. Isabelle Feliciani had seven digs and four aces, and setter Nikki Hamilton had 24 assists, four digs and one ace.

Souderton improved to 5-3 in conference play (8-4 overall) while the Rams are 2-6 in the conference (5-9 overall).

 

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, NORTH PENN 0

The Titans earned a sweep of the Knights in a battle for second place in the conference standings.

“We really struggled with energy and the mental game tonight, and it was unfortunate timing to be down against a strong team like South,” NP coach Jynell Brunt said. “Seniors Emily Un and Olivia Quallet had great defensive games tonight. Both had solid and consistent serve receive and contributed seven and 12 digs respectively.

“We are looking to rest and regroup before going into a tough four-match schedule next week.”

Central Bucks South is 6-3 in conference play (9-6 overall) while North Penn is 5-3 in the conference (8-4 overall).

 

SOL American

 

HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, ABINGTON 1 (23-25, 25-14, 25-23, 28-26)

The Ghosts – despite the absence of Kenya Lucas from their lineup - battled gamely, but the Hatters would not be denied, dropping the first set but winning the next three to notch the hard-earned win.

The Hatters offense was run by senior setter Grace Howard with 51 assists and three aces on the line. The defense was anchored by senior libero Maci Lumpkin with 16 digs. At the net, the Hatters had another solid performance from junior outside hitter Kayla Jones with 20 kills and three aces, senior Nastya Tsetsko with 16 kills, junior middle hitter Jade Lauzier with 12, and senior middle hitter Izzy Bombas with nine.

For the Ghosts, Lila Stonehouse (15 kills) and Sasha Moody (seven kills) led the way at the net. Setter Izzy Reilly had 28 assists.

“It was an amazing high school battle again without Kenya, and we pushed a very good team to the brink,” Abington coach Dan Marsh said. “I’m proud of our kids.”

Hatboro-Horsham - which upped its record to 6-1 in conference play (9-2 overall) – will travel to Council Rock North on Friday for a non-league match. Abington is 5-2 in the conference and 7-5 overall.
