COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, UPPER DUBLIN 1
Opening Day at CRN produced a very exciting match between Council Rock North and Upper Dublin.  Council Rock North won the hard fought match.
Senior co-captains Kaitlyn Liedl and Emma McNulty, according to coach Joe Schweizter, led the emotional charge that carried the North Rockers to the win.
“Upper Dublin played an amazing defensive game,” the Indians’ coach said. “Our hitters had a very difficult time finding the floor. Their setter moved the ball around beautifully making it difficult on our defense.”
Sophomore Oliva Szymkiewicz led the offense with 10 kills and four aces, Liedl had five kills and five aces, junior Addison Zarillo had nine kills to lead a balanced attack, headed up by junior Sarah McCafferty's 29 assists.
“None of this is possible without our Rock Solid libero, senior Emma McNulty, patrolling the passing lanes, giving Sarah the opportunity to set up our hitters,” Schweitzer said. “We are trying to rebuild CRN Volleyball.
“This team knows we all must contribute and be unpredictable.  We have a Three Musketeer attitude. We still have a lot of work to do this season.  Tonight was a good start.”

For the Cardinals, Madison Small led the way at the net with 11 kills to go along with seven digs and one ace. Lyvia Marcus sparked the defense with 18 digs and also had one kill and one ace while Brooke Kinsley had 16 digs, four kills and three aces. Setter Kaitlyn Small handed out 23 assists and also had five kills, eight digs and three blocks. Alisa Zeng contributed eight digs while Janis Andrulonis added five kills, six aces, six digs and one block.
