SOL Girls' Volleyball Wrap (8-29-22)

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 2 (25-22, 24-26, 10-25; 25-22, 15-11)
The Indians used a balanced attack and some tough serving to pull out Monday’s non-league match in five sets.  Senior Sophie Lentz led the way with 12 kills, three aces and two blocks.  Junior Kaitlyn Liedl had 10 kills and an ace.  Junior middle hitter Caitlyn Mahle had six kills and three blocks.  Sophomore middle hitter Addison Zarillo had seven kills and four blocks. Junior setter Sarah McCafferty dished out 24 assists.
For the Patriots, setter Mia Metille dished out 40 assists to go along with five digs. Megan Colbert led the defense with 20 digs and also had six service aces. Maddy Ware had a big day, finishing with 18 kills, 15 digs, eight aces and one block. Katie Monaghan (11 kills, 10 digs) and Samantha Sharp (10 kills, four blocks) also contributed double-digit kills. Aimee Wolf had five kills and two blocks.
“After two tough injuries and lineup changes, the girls fought hard with persistence against a tough CR North team,” coach Jacki Curci said.
Council Rock North (1-0) will host Harry S Truman in Tuesday’s SOL opener. Central Bucks East (0-1) will host Central Bucks West on Tuesday.

PENNSBURY 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH (25-13, 25-17, 25-17)
The Falcons had a strong showing at their home opener, prevailing over the Titans in three straight sets.
Sami Love, Stephanie Adamousky and Brynn Magee each took a set as Libero.  Faith Szumigala and Caroline Croteau shared setting duties.  
Jocelyn Fang led the Falcons with ten kills and two aces.  Kiersten Adair, Kiera Rogan and Natalie Johnson each contributed with four kills.  Claire Macelroy and Kira Sendlock had three kills and Jayden Rogan had two kills.  Ella Visco led the team in aces with 4 and also contributed with three kills. 

The Falcons (1-0) are on the road tomorrow, traveling to Central Bucks East.  Central Bucks South will be on the road for Tuesday’s SOL opener at Souderton.
