SOL Girls' Volleyball Wrap (9-20-17)

Check out the results for SOL girls’ volleyball teams in action Wednesday.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, BENSALEM 0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-9)
The Titans received important contributions from some new faces in their sweep of the Owls.
"I'm really proud of all the girls, especially some of the younger girls like Carly and Maddy Morrow who contributed a lot today." Said head coach Kurt Godfrey. "All four of our setters distributed the ball really well today and everyone got their fair share of kills. I'm really proud of all of our girls and it's a good win heading into our tri-match on Saturday."
Senior setter Erica Werner led a strong service game with seven aces to go along with nine assists and four digs. Senior middle Julia Dennis had six kills and four blocks. Senior defensive specialist Meghan Smith also had a big game at the service line, sharing the team lead with seven aces while also contributing one kill and four digs. Senior outside hitter Alyssa Dallmer added nine kills, and sophomore middle Carly Carroll had three kills.

UPPER DUBLIN 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-10)
For the Panthers, Megan Dougherty had five kills, two aces and six digs. Mckenna Doud added four kills and six digs, and Melanie Gottleib had eight assists and six digs.

PENNRIDGE 3, SOUDERTON 2 (25-16, 18-25, 8-25, 25-23, 15-8)
The Rams eked out a win in a grueling five-set match.
For the Indians, setter Talia Watson had 36 assists, seven digs and three aces. Haley Novak had 12 kills and 12 digs. Tori Reiner also had 12 kills. Maria Iervolino added eight kills and 11 digs. Bella Mazzeo had 18 digs to lead the defense and also had five aces. Also contributing were Zoe Kondel (four kills, two blocks), Erin Brady (three kills), Jordyn Peacock (two kills), Amelia Hanson (six digs) and Megan Hamilton (four digs).
Souderton drops to 3-6 on the season.

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, NORTH PENN 0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-14)
Lily Acquaviva’s 17-kill effort led the Colonials. She also had two aces and seven digs. Taylor O’Brien added seven kills, three blocks and one ace.
For the Knights, junior Gina Moffa had three service aces, and senior Laura Taylor added a pair of kills with a 50 percent attack percentage.
