SOL Girls' Volleyball Wrap (9-28-17)

PENNSBURY 3, NORTH PENN 0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-22)
Julia Vreeswyk had another big match for the Falcons, slamming home 14 kills (.333 hitting percentage) and also contributing three aces and five digs. Sydney Buell had eight kills and a team-high 11 digs. Setter Kiley Bucknum had 28 assists, nine digs and one ace. Heather Linker had four aces and five digs, and Elley Torres added five kills and one ace. Shelby Hastings contributed five kills, and Brooke Burns had four.
The Knights’ offensive leaders were junior outside hitter Morgan Patterson (seven kills) and sophomore outside hitter Natalie Wernly (five kills). Junior setter Alycia Powers added three kills, two serving aces and a block to her 16 setting assists. Junior libero Francesca Dolan led the Knights defense with 11 digs, and defensive specialist senior Sarah Lilly recorded seven digs. Senior middle Jessica Thompson and senior opposite Rachel Bruton each recorded three blocks.

WILLIAM TENNENT 3, CHELTENHAM 0 (25-7, 25-8, 25-13)
In Tennent’s sweep of the visiting Lady Panthers, Devyn Cobb and Nicole Long, according to coach Brian Bassler, buried some sweet sets from Kelly Scipione. Jess Rutkowsky served 22 times and had four aces.
For Cheltenham, Mackenna Doud had three kills and three digs, Megan Dougherty added one kill and seven digs, and Samerrah Waheed had two kills, two aces and two digs.

NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2
New Hope Continued their winning ways this Thursday evening by defeating Central Bucks South on the road in a marathon five set match. (25-27, 29-27, 25-22, 22-25, 15-13)
