CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, LANSDALE CATHOLIC 2 (25-17, 23-25, 16-25, 25-23, 17-15)
The Titans did something they had never done under coach Ulana Keer – they beat perennial power Lansdale Catholic.“It was a special win tonight,” Keer said. “I am very proud of our team and my daughter. We have always chased them and never really came close,
“I guess you have to really appreciate those moments when you do beat ‘em. They have one of the most outstanding setters and middles in the league in Kushman and Chase. I have been trying to plan since last year (when they had that outstanding team) that crushed us, how can I get my kids prepared to play high level talent. I don’t know - we just have great team chemistry, and all I am trying to do is put the right people in the right place.”
Keer went on to acknowledge the strong performances of her players.
“Sara Poli and Eryn Cleary have magic together,” the Titans’ coach said. “They work like a symphony together. I have never coached two players that know where the other one is…it’s very special.
“My two seniors, Taylor Danilowicz and Larissa Keer, also work well together, they trust each other and believe in the team. They don’t have to act crazy, they just calmly help.
“Each piece of the puzzle was flowing, but it wasn’t simple. Actually, we were down going into the fourth game. We had our backs against the wall, and we had the right players step up and do some great things tonight.”
Topping the list of “great things” was a standout service game. Megan Manderson had seven aces, Taylor Danilowicz, four aces, Sara Poli and Eryn Cleary had three aces and Larissa Keer, two aces.
Breana Jackson had three solo blocks, one of which – according to Keer - came in game five at the 14th point to score a kill. Danilowicz and Poli each had eight kills each. Brianna Bannach had four digs and Larissa Keer had six digs, Megan Manderson had four kills while middles Megan Dunn and Sara Ecklemeyer each had one block and one kill.
“I am excited for them and really like how everyone is working together,” Keer said.
The Titans will host Pennridge Thursday.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 2 (20-25, 25-15, 25-23 19-25, 15-12)
The Titans were coming off a tournament at Penncrest on Saturday that saw the team compile a 5-3 record in pool play, defeating Springfield and Chichester, dropping a pair to Archbishop Wood and splitting with Penncrest. The team missed out on a chance for the playoffs even though Wood had an identical record but defeated the Titans in head to head competition.
They were back in action Monday night.
“Tonight we struggled with consistency because PW did a great job with several skills, such as serving trying to get us out of system, with defense not allowing us to get many kills and with number six hitting very well down the line,” coach Ulana Keer said. “These three factors caused us problems in our two set losses.
“We are trying to stay consistent, but sometimes it is a roller coaster ride of volleyball skills when you are young.”
Standouts tonight at serving were Erin Cleary had six aces, Sara Poli and Megan Manderson both had 5 aces, Larissa Keer had three aces, Taylor Danilowicz four aces, and Megan Dunn, one ace. Taylor Danilowicz and Sara Poli had seven kills each, Megan Manderson had three kills with Erin Cleary setting having 18 assists. Breana Jackson had four blocks and Meg Dunn had two, Meg Manderson had one. Brianna Bannach had five digs and four assists.
“It’s never easy to win on the road in someone else’s gym, and I give credit to PW for playing very well tonight,” Keer said. “They will give a lot of teams a run for their money this year with their scrappy defense.”

ABINGTON 3, ST. BASILS 1 (25-21, 26-28, 32-30, 25-20)
