The links of the Centennial-9 at Huntingdon Valley are never kind to golfers, and today was no exception. Abington and Tennent were faced with a 25-minute lightning delay on top of the ‘lightning’ quick greens and unforgiving rough. Despite these obstacles, sophomore Matt Shur dominated the links, finishing up with a 37 at HVCC, his best round of the 2013 season and the best round at HVCC for the Ghosts in quite some time. Shur earned this with precision shot making and near perfection with seven pars and just two bogeys. His putting was on fire and left the course with only 16 for the 9. Rebecca Chiger also came up with another big contribution for Abington with a stellar score of 40. She parred four and had five bogeys with 19 putts. Andy Ring, who joins Abington as his first year on the varsity team, also came in with a contributing score of 41, which helped the Ghosts secure their win against the Panthers.
