Lulu Country Club, White Tees, Par 35

Wissahickon (194) – Jalen Griffin 35, Rishab Kumar 38, Steve O’Donnell 40, Peter Walters 40, Jesse Hunsicker 41
Wisshickon’s strong play was not enough to overcome host Upper Dublin’s record-setting day at Lulu Country Club as the Cardinals defeated the Trojans to keep their American Conference championship hopes alive. In splitting their season series, each squad now has one conference loss (the Trojans hold the tiebreaker advantage), and both face a rematch with PW – Wissahickon away and Upper Dublin at home, the results of which will determine who will wear the 2011 crown. Andrew Carber led the Cardinals from the one seed with a career low competitive round of 1-under par 34 followed by the squad’s second and third seeds, Tom O’Brien and Jon Bebey, who shot 38 and 39 respectively. With Wissahickon holding a two-shot lead and the final two pairings to finish, Harry Sykes was afforded ‘hero’ status, posting a 40 from the seventh seed to turn the match in Upper Dublin’s favor. Jalen Griffin and Rishab Kumar turned in stellar performances for the Trojans, scoring 35 and 38 respectively. Seniors Steve O’Donnell and Pete Walters each posted 40 to help keep the match close.
