SOL All-League and All-State Players Excel at National Tournament

The U19 National Indoor Tournament concluded in Richmond, VA. The United State Field Hockey Association organizes the event by having teams qualify for the National Tournament.  Club teams’ placement at their qualifier determines how high of a pool/level they will be placed in at the National Tournament. There are 15 levels of play at the event, ranging from the A pool to the O Pool. Teams that win their qualifier are placed in the A pool working their way down based on how they finish.

Several members of the True North Field Hockey Club competed for the 5th consecutive year in the top pool. True North placed second in the A pool for the second consecutive year, dropping a 1-0 decision to WC Eagles for the gold. The A pool represents the top club teams in the nation. True North finished with just one loss, allowing only four goals in seven matches played.

Members of the True North United include:

Megan Miller (Palmyra, All-State, Regional All American), Megan Hamilton (CB South, All-League, All-State), Corrine Kenney (CB South, All-League, All-State) Alexa Ostoich (Villa Maria, All-League, All-State) Jessica Schmidt (CB South, All-League) Mackenzie Harding (CB South, All-League, All-State, Regional All American) Sarah Zezsotarski (CB South). True North is trained and coached by Jeff Harding out of SMG Sportsplex Warminster, PA.

“The level at which our club teams look to continually play at is represented in the pool classification we compete at each year,” coach Jeff Harding said. “These girls have a focus, and that is to challenge each other playing against the highest competition each and every game. The end result in this approach is their preparation to compete at the Division One level which they all will do.”
