SHSHL Varsity AA Semifinals
#1 CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH vs. NORTH PENN at Warwick (Wednesday, Feb. 28, 7 p.m.)
Central Bucks South

  • 15-2 overall
  • 11-0 SHSHL Continental Conference champions
  • Titans scored 107 goals and allowed just 17
  • Dangerous attack led by Matt Stoll (28 goals, 20 assists, 48 points), Joseph DeLaurentis (25 goals, 20 assists, 45 points), Colin Abbonizio (11 goals, 16 assists, 27 points), Reis Braccio (8 goals, 18 assists, 24 points) and Tyler Boylan (12 goals, 10 assists, 22 points)
  • Oscar Levin and Tim White have split time in goal. Both have three shutouts. Levin (9-0) has turned away 144 of 154 shots for a .935 save percentage, allowing 1.14 goals a game. White (8-2) has turned away 169 of 176 shots for a .909 save percentage, allowing 1.75 goals a game.

How they got here:  In Monday’s opening round, Central Bucks South defeated eighth-seeded Neshaminy 4-0. In a contest that saw the Titans fired 61 shots on goals, goalie Tim White turned away all nine shots he faced for the shutout.

North Penn

  • 10-5-2 overall
  • 8-2-1 Continental Conference
  • Knights’ attack is led by Andrew Galeetta (26 goals, 21 assists, 47 points), Nathan Oh (12 goals, 22 assists, 34 points), Tyler Greenstein (16 goals, 15 assists, 31 goals), Jared Albano (10 goals, 19 assists, 29 points), George Boyle (7 goals, 18 assists, 25 points), Jake Nelson (14 goals, 11 assists, 25 points) and Joshua Kaufhold (7 goals, 13 assists, 20 points).
  • Chris Maiden (5-2-1) and Andrew Zanoni (5-3-1) have split time between the pipes. Maiden has turned away 143 of 176 shots (.812) and Zanoni has stop 153 of 191 shots (.801).

How they got here:  North Penn defeated fifth-seeded Council Rock North 12-6. Andrew Galetta’s eight-point night (five goals, three assists) led the Knights, who led 6-1 after one period only to watch Indians make it a 7-6 game heading into the final period that saw the Knights close it out with a 5-0 tear. Joshua Kaufhold and George Boyle both had four-point games for North Penn.

#2 PENNRIDGE vs. #6 CENTRAL BUCKS WEST at Hatfield (Wednesday, Feb. 28, 7:10 p.m.)
Pennridge

  • 13-2-1 overall
  • 10-1-1 Continental Conference second place
  • Rams have scored 85 goals and allowed 3` goals
  • Offense led by Eric Slater (38 goals, 22 assists, 60 points), Michael Walker (18 goals, 22 assists, 40 points) and Patrick McGinley (21 goals, 17 assists, 38 points).
  • Goalie Luke Stranick (12-2-1) anchors the defense. He has stopped 354 of 392 shots faced for a .903 save percentage while allowing 2.53 goals a game.

How they got here:  In Monday’s opening round, Pennridge defeated #7 Central Bucks East 4-1. Eric Slater had a hat trick and Patrick McGinley had three assists to lead the Rams. Luke Stranick turned away 15 of 16 shots in goals.

Central Bucks West

  • 10-6 overall
  • 5-6 Continental Conference
  • Bucks have allowed only 47 goals in 16 games
  • Ten players with 10 or more points. Joey Rockovich’s 20 points leads the Bucks (13 goals, 7 assists). Christian Young (11 goals, 7 assists) and Daniel Poliak (8 goals, 10 assists) both have 18 points. Christopher Trefz (7 goals, 10 assists) and Jake Lang (9 goals, 8 assists) have 17 while Owen Shields (5 goals, 11 assists) has 16.
  • Jeremy Kennard (6-6) has turned away 307 of 351 shots for an .875 save percentage.

How they got here:  Central Bucks West upset third-seeded Council Rock South 3-2 in sudden death overtime. Jake Lang scored the game winner 1:36 into overtime. Jeremy Kennard stole the spotlight, turning away 49 of 51 shots in goal. Joey Rockovich contributed a goal and an assist.

Varsity A Semifinals
#1 WISSAHICKON vs. #4 HATBORO-HORSHAM at Hatfield Ice (Wednesday, Feb. 28, 8:55 p.m.)

Wissahickon

  • 13-2 overall
  • 13-1 SHSHL Varsity A Champions
  • Trojans have scored 137 goals and allowed 37 in 14 games
  • Dangerous attack is led by brothers Bryan Garry (43 goals, 27 assists, 70 points) and Sean Garry (37 goals, 27 assists, 64 assists).
  • Matt Cade (12 goals, 12 assists, 24 points), Daniel Glazer (10 goals, 13 assists, 23 points), Alex Myhrman (13 goals, 9 assists, 22 points) and Nolan Piatkowski (9 goals, 12 assists, 21 points)
  • Goalies Jake Modelvsky (6-1) and Michael Henderson (7-1) share time in goals. Modelvsky has turned away 77 of 84 shots for a .917 save percentage while allowing an average of 1.12 goals a game. Henderson has 202 saves with a save percentage of .867.

Hatboro-Horsham

  • 9-7 overall
  • 9-5 Varsity
  • Attack led by Jacob Mueller (22 goals, 16 assists, 38 points), Dylan McClure (13 goals, 6 assists, 19 points) and Nathan Reilly (12 goals, 7 assists, 19 points).
  • Ryan Bell (7-4) anchors the Hatters’ defense in goal, turning away 315 of 363 shots he’s faced (.868).

#2 ABINGTON vs. #3 LOWER MORELAND at Warwick (Wednesday, Feb. 28, 8:45 p.m.)

Abington

  • 12-3-1 overall
  • 10-3-1 Varsity A
  • Perry Carpenter’s 38 points (24 goals, 14 assists) leads the Ghosts. Nikolai Porter (13 goals, 19 assists, 32 points), Ryan Gosselin (14 goals, 14 assists, 28 points), Gavin O’Donnell (12 goals, 14 assists, 26 points) an Elijah Coston (6 goals, 12 assis, 18 points) also contribute offensively.
  • Jacob Snellenburg (8-1-1) anchors the defense in goals, posting two shutouts and turning away 276 of 302 shots (.914). Mason Large (4-2) has stopped 180 of 209 shots (.861).

LOWER MORELAND

  • 11-5 overall
  • 10-5 Varsity A
  • The Lions have scored 104 goals in 16 games
  • Coleman Peppelman’s 58 points (44 goals, 14 assists) leads the Lions. Also contributing are Adam Bostock (19 goals, 24 assists, 43 points), Campbell Manin (nine goals, 20 assists, 29 points), AJ D’Orazio (11 goals, 13 assists, 24 points) and Devin Green (12 goals, 10 assists, 22 points).
  • John Duesler (10-5) anchors the defense between the pipes with 277 saves.
