WISSAHICKON 9, HARRY S TRUMAN 7
Dylan Alioto scored four goals to lead a high-powered Trojan attack. Teammates Jacob Segelbaum and Kyle Wolf each had three-point nights, contributing two goals and one assist.
Zachary Bennett scored three goals and assisted on two others to lead a balanced Tiger attack. Michael Roarty had a three-point game with a goal and two assists.
The Trojans’ offensive onslaught began early. After Wissahickon’s Nolan Piatkowski (Segelbaum assist) and Truman’s Kyle Bennett (Tyler Bucci/Ross Koenig assists) exchanged goals, Alioto began to assert himself, scoring back-to-back goals – the second with a Wolf assist. An unassisted goal by Wolf sent the Trojans into the second period with a 4-1 lead.
Truman trimmed that lead to 4-3 after back-to-back goals by Kyle Bennett and Roarty. Wissahickon answered with three goals in a three-minute span late in the period to go on top 7-3. Segelbaum got things started, and then it was Alioto connecting. Segelbaum’s second goal of the period gave the Trojans a four-goal advantage. Truman’s Michael Cox trimmed that lead to three with a late goal.
Wolf opened the third period with a goal that put the Trojans on top 8-4, but Zachary Bennett answered with back-to-back-to-back goals to make it an 8-7 game. Alioto (Brandon Rosoff assist) scored in the game’s closing seconds for the 9-7 final.
