COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 6, WISSAHICKON 5
Mark Tosti connected for the hat trick to lead the Indians to the hard fought Senior Night win on Friday.
The Indians got on the scoreboard two minutes into the game when Tosti turned a Jacob Borden assist into a goal, and it was a 2-0 game after a goal by Zachary Herman (Brian Leinheiser assist) 4:19 into the opening period. Tyler Thompson found the net for the Trojans, using a Matt Wilson assist, but Tosti’s power play goal (Dante Rienzi assist) put the Indians on top 3-1 when he scored his second goal of the period.
Neither team found the net in the second period, and a goal by Brandon Simmonds (John Vanni/Christian Zemzik assists) gave the Indians a 4-1 lead. Wissahickon’s Jake Flancer trimmed that lead to 4-2 with a goal 3:25 into the period, but Tosti got that one back for the Indians. Wissahickon made things real interesting with three straight goals in a three-minute period to knot the score. Nolan Piatkowski, Alex Myhrman (Flancer/Tyler Thompson assists) and Wilson each contributed single goals in the run with Wilson’s goal tying things up (5-5) at the 10:15 mark. Christian Zemzik (Andrew Speeney assist) connected for the game winner at the 14:03 mark.
Chase D’Arcangelo (18 saves) earned the win in the net. Wissahickon’s Jake Modelevsky was credited with 40 saves.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 14, ABINGTON 1
Jake Houk had a six-point night (two goals, four assists), and teammates Matthew Owens (three goals, one assist) and Nicholas Meli (three goals, one assist) both added four points as the Golden Hawks rolled to the lopsided win.
Owens (Michael Kauffman assist) put the Golden Hawks on the board early, but Abington’s Perry Carpenter (Spencer Heuges/Thomas Panella assists) answered with a goal to knot the score 8:51 into the opening period. It would be the Ghosts’ last hurrah as the rest of the night belonged to the Hawks.
A pair of goals by Owens – the first with a Houk assist and the second with an assist from Dylan Varian – as well as single goals from Meli (Joe Marcella/Jared Wagenmann assists) and Houk (Kauffman assist) – gave the Golden Hawks a 5-1 lead after one period. They added nine goals in the second period for the mercy rule win with Meli and Marcella both scoring a pair and Karl Martin, Houk, Darren Barder, Kauffman and Josh Vergules each adding single goals.
