In a classic National Conference battle, the Ghosts rallied from a 3-0 deficit to earn the impressive win. Alex DeCristofano contributed a hat trick while teammate Chris Shannon had a four-point night with two goals and two assists.
The Panthers had things going their way in the first period, using goals by Mike Padgeon, Alec Dugan and Anthony Anzideo to go on top 3-0.
The second period belonged to the Ghosts. DeCristofano got the ball rolling with three consecutive goals in a five-minute span to open the period, knotting the score 3-3. Shannon connected on a shorthanded goal to give the Ghosts a lead they would not lose. Shannon’s second goal gave the Ghosts a 5-3 advantage heading into the final period when the two teams exchanged goals.
Abington extended its lead to 6-3 after a shorthanded goal by Thomas Carroll before Tennent’s Jack McKeever scored a late goal for the 6-4 final.
The Panthers held a 28-24 advantage in shots.
