SOL Tennis Wrap (Wk of 4-3-23)

Central Bucks East 4, Council Rock South 3: CRS may have the top two players in District 1-3A in Alexander Sterin and Mikkel Zinder, but that did not stop East from rallying for the SOL crossover victory on Tuesday. Alan Zhang was the man at No. 3 singles for East, rallying from a set down to post a 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory that was the difference in the match. Sterin played No. 1 singles on Tuesday and both he and Zinder won, dropping a total of three games. East though won 3 of the 4 doubles matches to help notch the victory led by a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 behind Devin Yang/Aum Mehta.

Pennridge 6, Upper Perk 1: The Rams swept the singles matches without dropping a set and coasted to the nonconference win on Monday. Linus Lienkamp, Isaac Hartzell and Daniel Carey combined to lose just 12 games. Upper Perk won at No. 4 doubles where Bryce Shanfelt and Julian Leo won 6-4, 7-5 over Wesley George and Jonah Rabuck.

Quakertown 4, Pottsgrove 3: The Panthers swept the singles matches and eked out the nonconference win on Tuesday. Justin Kwityn and Josh Einolf pulled out a thriller at No. 1 doubles, winning 4-6, 7-6, (7-5), 6-0 over Pottsgrove’s Declan Tabor/Matthew Walmsley. Max Arkans, Ben Arkans and Tyler Osika all won in straight sets for Quakertown in singles action.
