SOL Wrestling Notes (12-15-12)

Check out some of the highlights of SOL teams who competed in weekend tournaments.

Council Rock North:
The Indians finished sixth out of 28 teams at the Penn Manor Holiday Tournament on Saturday. Placing for the Indians were:
2nd place – Tyler Kelly (152)
5th place – Tim Ambacher (126)
5th place – Chris Davis (160)
7th place – Mike Jeronis (120)

Council Rock South:
The Golden Hawks finished 16th at the King of the Mountain at Central Mountain High School. P.J. Steinmetz captured gold at 195, and Dan Martoccio placed third at 120. Tom Shaatiel finished eighth at 170.

Neshaminy:
The Redskins finished 13th in a field of 28 teams at the Penn Manor Holiday Tournament on Saturday. The team won 26 matches of the two-day tournament. Sixteen of those wins came from the team’s four place winners. Placing for the Redskins were:
3rd place – Ryan O’Connor, 4-1 (145)
5th place – Nathan Russell, 5-2  (152)
5th place – Kody Lupfer, 4-2  (182)
6th place – Sam Rudolph, 3-3 (113)
O’Connor, who has 99 wins, continues his push towards the 100-win mark.

North Penn:
The Knights trailed in points after four rounds but took over the lead in the fifth round at the 2012 Colley Classic on Saturday. The Knights, who finished with 274.0 points, passed second place Central Bucks South (246.0). The Knights crowned four champions in Mikey O’Brien, Joey O’Brien, Jeffery Reimel and Alex Price. Cameron Healey and Sofiane Bensmail had second place finishes. Capturing third place were Richie Liberio, Marcus Myers, George Shipp and Ben Kaplan.
The Knights will host the Titans in a dual match on Wednesday.

Pennridge:
At the Springfield Township Duals, Pennridge earned wins over Glen Mills (42-33), Harriton (69-12), Jim Thorpe (54-18) and Martin Luther King (72-12).

Pennsbury:
The Falcons were 4-1 at Saturday’s Abington Duals, defeating Central (68-19), Central Bucks East (58-14), Father Judge (50-17) and Upper Darby (50-25). Spring-Ford handed the Falcons their only loss (33-21). The Falcons fin
