Seven SOL teams competed at the Panther Invitational hosted by William Tennent where Central Bucks West crowned three champs as the Bucks finished in fourth place with 99.5-points.  Teague McCormack (106-pounds) and Patrick Kelly (113) captured the first two weights, and Carl DiGiorgio was king at 215.  McCormack (PA Power #23) is peaking as he heads to the postseason with back-to- back crowns this past week, as he blanked Pennridge’s Colby Martinelli (PA Power #24) 5-0 in the Colonial championship after his drop to 106-pounds.  Upper Moreland finished in third place with 117.5 pts despite not having any champs.  The Golden Bears had two runners-up in Michael Munzer, who was pinned by Kelly at 113-pounds, and Charles Hogan, who lost to Methacton’s Joey Simko 11-8 in the 126-pound final.

Upper Moreland picked up several bronzes as Collin Evanson (120), Cameron Fields (138) and Owen Dunleavy (189) finished in third place.  Hosts William Tennent had two finalists in Angelo Guzman and Nolan Cataldi. Guzman remained hot after his SOL Freedom crown at 145-pounds Tuesday, as he completed his 2022 senior campaign with a title in his own gym with an overall record of 28-4.  Cataldi was the runner-up at 172-pounds after getting pinned by West Chester Rustin’s outstanding and undefeated Marek Seaman (ranked #10 in Pennsylvania by PA Power).

Lower Moreland’s Nicholas Simon (132) and Derek Morenenko (152) both finished in second place, as did Cheltenham’s Kahliq McCalman at 215-pounds at the hands of DiGiorgio.   DiGiorgio is currently ranked second in the state by PA Power Wrestling and heads to the postseason with just two losses at 26-2.  One of those losses was to CB East’s Quinn Collins. Collins is ranked third at 189-pounds.  DiGiorgio’s other loss was to State College’s #1 Nicholas Pavlechko in the ETR finals.

Central Bucks West has plenty of individual talent in McCormack, Kelly and DiGiorgio heading to the individual postseason.
