SOS.com Honor Roll 4-15-09

Performances of note that have been reported (and not acknowledged in the notebook or in a featured game story) will be recognized on the honor roll. Below is a list of honorees for the past two weeks.

Wissahickon scored six runs in the first inning, but Norristown came back to earn an 8-6 win on Monday. Maggie Creciun was 3-for-4 while Shari Lynn Kluth and Kim Detwiler each had two hits.
Brittany Beebe fanned eight and allowed two hits in Souderton’s 9-0 win over Council Rock South. Alicia Stiles was 3-for-4 with three triples, two RBIs and two runs scored. Olivia Shoemaker was also 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Sarah Landes (double, triple, two runs scored, two RBIs) and Elysha Sowers both had two hits.
Renee Stiteler hit a solo home run with two outs in the seventh inning to knot Plymouth Whitemarsh’s game against Cheltenham 3-3. The Colonials, who went on to earn an 8-3 win in nine innings, received two-hit efforts from Stiteler, Alyssa Butcher (two triples, RBI) and Alycia Sabol. Sabol, who also earned the win on the mound, did not allow a hit after the fifth inning. Cheltenham was led by the two-hit efforts of Holly Powell (double), Katie Bohr and Alexis Streets.
Chelsea Edwards was 3-for-4 with three RBIs in Hatboro’s 9-0 win over Central Bucks East. Danielle DiFilippo and Maggie Shaffer combined for 10 strikeouts on the mound.
Rachael Alligood tossed a four-inning no-hitter and fanned 10 in Truman’s 17-0 rout of Bensalem.
Kelsey Detweiler allowed two hits and struck out nine in Pennridge’s 5-0 win over Quakertown. Kate Wacyk had a sixth-inning home run.
Nicole Rodi collected Central Bucks South’s only hit off Souderton pitcher Liz Parkins – an RBI triple in a two-run second as the Titans held on for a 2-1 win. Fran Carrullo allowed five hits and struck out 14.
Maddie Denneny allowed just two hits, but Upper Moreland fell to Lansdale Catholic 1-0 in a non-league tilt.
Gabbie Berry and Shari Lynne Kluth both had three hits with Kluth contributing a double and home run in Norristown’s 8-1 win over Springfield. Shauna Byrnes had a pair of doubles. Daisy Foster recorded the win on the mound.
Pennridge was led by the three-hit efforts of Alicia Detweiler and Lauren Wilson in the Rams’ 7-3 win over Central Bucks East.
Olivia Shoemaker was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in Souderton’s 7-0 win over Central Bucks West. Liz Sowers (2 RBIs) and Liz Parkins (RBI) both added two hits. Brittany Beebe allowed just two hits in notching her first varsity win.
Upper Dublin received three-hit efforts from Shannon Haggerty (double, 3 RBIs) and Amy McCaffrey (double, 6 RBIs) in its 16-3 win over Springfield. Winning pitcher Julia Angelos allowed four hits in five innings.
Shauna Byrnes had three hits and was only a triple away from hitting for the cycle in Norristown’s 10-6 win over Upper Merion. Kim Detwiler contributed a home run and triple, and Maggie Creciun and Stephanie Dinolfi both had two hits. Gabbie Berry led the defense.
Mel Frank scattered three hits and struck out six in Central Bucks East’s 3-0 win over Quakertown. Robyn Ziegler scored a pair of runs and led the defense. Shannon Devlin had a pair of hits (RBI, run scored), and Brittany Augenbaugh had a double and RBI.
Taylre Stocks and Haileigh Stocks each had a pair of hits, including a home run, in Central Bucks South’s 8-1 win over Pennridge. Taylre finished the day with four RBIs. Michelle Gessner had a triple, Mel Molnar had two RBIs. Pitchers Devon Utterback and Haileigh Stocks combined to toss a three-hitter.
Pennsbury received home runs from both Lauren Rossi and Jill Niedrist in its 12-2 win over Bensalem. Kelsi Bunda, Kirby Groves, D’Anna Devine, Brooke Downs, Tara Crauss and Mirella Wells all had doubles. Sarah Gosselin notched the win on the mound.
In Pennridge’s 2-1 win over Central Bucks West, Kelsey Detweiler was 2-for-3. Erica Schmale scattered six hits in nothing the win.
Jordan Haines was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI while teammate Nicole Kulp was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs in Upper Merion’s 6-2 win over Plymouth Whitemarsh. Allie Lutz had two RBIs. Alycia Sabol was 3-for-4 with a triple to lead the Colonials. Alyssa Butcher (double) and Tori Baritucci each had a pair of hits for PW.
Julie Wambold was 3-for-3 with two RBIs in Hatboro’s 2-1 win over Souderton. Danielle DiFilippo struck out 10 while earning her first varsity win.
Kelly Hendrickson and Ashley Alden combined for 12 strikeouts in William Tennent’s 8-1 win over Bensalem. Both also had a pair of hits, including a home run. Deanna Schneiderreit, Melanie Grillone, Dana Ballentine and Gina Tyson also had multiple hits. Sam Schultz had a pair of RBIs.
Norristown was led by the two-hit efforts of Shari Lynne Kluth, Stephanie Dinolfi, Daisy Foster and Gabbie Berry in its 12-2 win over Upper Moreland. Foster struck out six in the win.
Kellianna Bradstreet allowed just two hits while fanning five in North Penn’s 9-0 win over Central Bucks East. Janelle Stawasz (two runs scored), Cari Anderson (two runs scored) and Miranda Sergus each had two hits and two RBIs for the Maidens.
Fran Carrullo struck out 13 and did not walk a batter in Central Bucks South’s 1-0 win over Quakertown. Kim Rowe accounted for the game’s only run with an RBI triple. Nicole Rodi saves the day for the Titans in the seventh inning, gunning down a runner at home plate attempting to score from third on a fly ball to the outfield for the game’s final out.

In Pennsbury’s 6-1 win over Council Rock North, D’Anna Devine and Kirby Groves both contributed doubles. Kait Schilling allowed four hits in a winning effort on the mound.
Haileigh Stocks tossed a no-hitter in Central Bucks South’s 18-1 win over Wissahickon in a game that was halted after five innings because of the mercy rule. Stocks fanned five. Kim Rowe, Morgan Decker (double, grand slam home run) and Michelle Gessner (triple) each finished the day 2-for-2. Taylre Stocks added a double.
Melissa Kulp tossed a two-hitter in Upper Merion’s 4-0 non-league win over Gwynedd-Mercy Academy.
