Kristian Stanczewski – Wagner College (Water Polo)

Major: Biology

Final list of colleges:  Wagner, Fordham, Penn State Behrend

Reasons for choosing Wagner:  “I just really liked the connection I had with the coach and the small environment on the campus.”

Coach Joe Hay says:  “Kristian has been a four-year varsity player for us and is probably the all-time leading scorer in the history of our high school program. He’s a prolific scorer but great at every aspect of the game. He probably is the all-time leader in steals on defense as well as the all-time leading scorer, and that’s really a rare combination. He’s maybe the most fundamentally sound player that I’ve had since I’ve been coaching here the last 8-10 years.

“He’s just a terrific guy. He was in my AP Statistics class, and he’s just a terrific student. If he didn’t get 100 percent, he got really close on everything I put out for him. He’s had an outstanding academic and athletic career in high school. Kristian really made the most of his high school experience. He’s just a great guy – really respected by his peers and his teachers. He’s been a lot of fun to coach.”
