PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Ashanti Rumph, Pennsbury – The senior defensive end has been a difference maker for the Falcons in the postseason after stepping into the lineup when senior Joe Maurer was sidelined with an injury. In the Falcons’ 25-14 win over Upper Dublin, Rumph – primarily used as a pass rusher earlier in the season - had seven tackles and two sacks.

Coach Galen Snyder says:  “Ashanti is a converted soccer player, so last year was his first year playing football. He was a real nice soccer player before that. His brother (Corte Rumph) kicked for us his senior year and was a combination soccer player and kicker. He did a real nice job for us, but he had to learn the game. This year we were comfortable with him in the pass rush where he used his athleticism, and finally he got to the point where now he’s a complete football player. He’s very fast, he’s very athletic and he’s really coming into his own. He’s a real good athlete, so it was just getting some football experience.”
