Sterling Limo Players of the Game (Wk 10)

Sterling Limousine and Transportation Services of Wrightstown is proud to recognize the Players of the Game for SOL teams that are part of each week’s SuburbanOneSports.com’s Featured Game(s).

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH at COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH (CR North 13, CR South 7)
Sterling Limousine Offensive Co-Player of the Game – Brandon Knotts, Council Rock North
The senior wide receiver hauled in four passes for 140 yards and a touchdown. It was his 83-yard TD catch that sparked the Indians’ comeback.
Coach Adam Collachi says. “Brandon had a great year for us. He missed all of his junior year with a shoulder injury. He came back this year to play wide receiver and did a fantastic job. He really changed the momentum of Saturday’s game with the 83-yard touchdown. Without that play, I don’t think we win the game. That was just a huge momentum swing for us and got us centered.”

Sterling Limousine Offensive Co-Player of the Game – A.J. Nielson, Council Rock North
The Indians’ senior running back had 14 carries for a team high 44 yards and a touchdown. His 18-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter was the game winner.
Coach Adam Collachi says:  “A.J. did a lot of the dirty work. He had a great year running the ball for us, he did an excellent job blocking, and he catches the ball really well out of the backfield. He was a jack-of-all-trades for us. He was a very valuable part of our offense. He scored the game-winning touchdown on a great run. It was a great individual effort.”

Sterling Limousine Defensive Player of the Game – Council Rock North’s entire defensive unit
The Indians’ defense – which had three shutouts this season - allowed only one touchdown late in the second quarter and then held the Golden Hawks off the scoreboard in the second half. Members of that defense were Nate English (Sr., LB), John Devine (Sr., DB), Justin Goldberg (Sr., LB), Brett DiTomasso (Sr., DL), Pat Krimm (Sr., LB), Curtis Cothran (Sr., DL), Billy Foote (Sr., DL), Eddie Mackin (Jr., DB), Tyler Callendar (Jr., DL), Mitch Maisel (Soph., DB), James Closser (Fr., DL) and Seth Leuz (Fr., DB).
Coach Adam Collachi says:  “For the first three quarters of the game, if it wasn’t for the way our defense played, we would have never been in the game. CR South dominated field position, dominated time of possession, and the defense did an outstanding job of weathering the storm, forcing them into punting and allowing them only to have that one score. With their backs against the wall, they just did a fantastic job of keeping us close and allowing our offense to make some plays. If it wasn’t for the work of those guys, it would have been a much different outcome. They really hang their hats on getting those shutouts, and I thought the last two games of the season they played their best football. It was a good way to end for those guys. They were really swarming around the ball, they were very physical, and it was just a great way to end the season on that note.”

Sterling Limousine Special Teams Player of the Game –Max Pedinoff, Council Rock North
The Indians’ senior kicker connected on an extra point and did an outstanding job of pinning the Golden Hawks deep.
Coach Adam Collachi says:  “He made a key extra point for us, and he had a big touchback for us late in the game to pin them deep, invaluable things that don’t show up on a stat sheet. His ability to kick the ball in the end zone on kickoffs really, really helped. I think 10 of his last 11 kickoffs were touchbacks, and whenever a team starts at the 20-yard line, that’s a huge advantage for our defense and another reason why our defense played really well the last couple of weeks.”
