Sterling Limo Players of the Game (Wk 12)

Sterling Limousine and Transportation Services of Wrightstown is proud to recognize the Players of the Week for each conference. Players are chosen based on the nomination of coaches.

Sterling Limousine Special Teams/Defensive Player of the Week  - Devon Brown, Neshaminy High School

The Redskins’ senior defensive back had a pair of interceptions and returned one 50 yards for a touchdown. He finished the night with 127 total return yards – 41 on a kickoff return and 86 on an interception. He also had a fumble recovery on a kickoff and had three solo tackles.
Coach Mark Schmidt says:  “Devon made two plays late in the first half Friday against Spring-Ford that completely swung the momentum in our favor. It provided a spark that carried over into a huge second half. We will once again look for Devon to be productive Friday against a high-powered Abington offense.”

Sterling Limousine Offensive/Defensive Lineman of the Week – Jake Clark, Abington High School
A four-year starter, the senior offensive and defensive lineman participated in this 50th game in Abington’s win over top-seeded Garnet Valley. He made some key stops on defense to help the Ghosts rally from a 21-7 deficit. He also made several key blocks on third and fourth down plays to keep drives going in the comeback.

Coach Tim Sorber says:  “Jake is a young man who thoroughly enjoys playing the game of football, and that enthusiasm spreads to his teammates. He is one of the best players I have ever coached in my 14 years of head coaching. Most of all, I will be forever appreciative of Jake’s commitment, leadership, effort and fun he has brought to the Ghosts’ football program in his four years of playing.”

Sterling Limousine Offensive Player of the Week – Austin Shearer, North Penn High School
The Knights’ senior quarterback completed 7-of-8 passes for 108 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair of early TD strikes that gave North Penn a 13-7 lead it would never lose. He also completed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Nick Wright to open the second half that – after the extra point – put the Knights on top 20-7.
Coach Dick Beck says:  “There is no doubt, this is the best game that Austin has ever had.”
