PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Sterling Limo SOL Player of the Week
Nafeese Nasir, Plymouth Whitemarsh –
The senior running back, who also plays free safety, did it all in PW’s 47-27 win over Wissahickon. Nasir had 200 yards and four touchdowns on 14 carries. On defense, he had an interception as well as a tackle for a seven-yard loss. He also had 107 yards of kickoff returns.

Coach Dan Chang says:  “Nafeese played his best all-around game this past week. He really has great vision and a great burst through the hole. As a runner, he can make people miss and break tackles with his power. As his first year in a premiere role as the running back, he has gotten significantly better each week, and we hope that he continues to improve in all areas of his game throughout each week. He has the potential to be a very dynamic football player, and if he continues to work hard in practice each day, he will open up some eyes around the area.”

Sterling Limo American Conference Offensive Player of the Week
Ryan Stover, Upper Dublin –
The junior quarterback has been putting up big numbers every week for the Flying Cardinals. In Friday’s 46-14 win over Springfield, Stover completed 8-of-9 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns. He also had a pair of rushing touchdowns and accounted for five of his team’s TDs in the win.
Coach Bret Stover says:  “To date, he’s been playing very well for us. It’s not all him – he has a good supporting cast around him, but Ryan’s making good decisions for a young quarterback. He’s only started five games, and he’s getting better every day, which is good. He works hard, he puts his time in outside of practice. He does his film work, and he’s a student of the game, which you have to be to play that position.
“He just had one of those nights. He was 8-for-9, and the one he missed – he came off and said, ‘I threw it behind him.’ That one was open – he probably should have been 9-for-9, but he wasn’t, and he’s mad at himself for the one that he missed more than he’s happy for the three (TD passes) he made.”

Sterling Limo Continental Conference Offensive Player of the Week
Vince Alimenti, Council Rock South –
The senior running back literally willed his team back into the game after the Golden Hawks fell behind Central Bucks East 20-6 in the first quarter. He finished the game with 292 yards and two touchdowns and also had several crucial two-point conversions in Rock South’s 46-40 win over East.
Coach Vince Bedesem says:  “Vince has been a special player for us for the last several years. He has been a consistent piece to the offense all year. Vince is in the best shape of his career and is a leader on and off the field.”

Sterling Limo National Conference Offensive Player of the Week
Josh Adams, Central Bucks South –
The senior running back was unstoppable in the Titans’ 28-27 win over North Penn in a key National Conference battle. He finished the night with 327 yards and two touchdowns.

Sterling Limo Special Teams Player of the Week
Sam Presley, Council Rock South –
The senior defensive back returned the opening kickoff of the second half 97 yards for a touchdown that turned a 26-20 lead into a 34-20 lead after Alimenti’s successful two-point conversion. It gave the Golden Hawks momentum heading into the second half of their 46-40 win over Central Bucks East.
Vince Bedesem says:  “Sam Presley has been a great addition to our football team. Not only as a defensive back but as a kick return specialist. Sam has been so close this year in every game to breaking a kick return for a TD. He finally was rewarded this weekend.”
