STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Sterling Limo Offensive Players of the Game:
First star: Jake Hubler, North Penn –
The senior wide receiver had a career night with six catches for 206 yards and a touchdown in North Penn’s 45-7 win over Abington.
Coach Dick Beck says:  “Last year, Jake was a backup playing jayvee the first three or four games. We started giving him some varsity reps, and he just exploded. We never took him off the field since we made that move. This year he had a little bit of a slow start, and the last couple of weeks he’s just been so explosive. What helps him a lot besides he’s a great player and very fast is Ricky Johns and Justis Henley get some more attention, and maybe he gets overlooked a little bit. With 206 yards, six catches and a couple of touchdowns, he was pretty special last week.”

Second star: Joey Curotto, Souderton – The Indians’ senior quarterback completed 11-of-14 passes for 214 yards and two touchdowns, eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark for the season in Souderton 33-15 win over Central Bucks West.

Third star:  Austin Clarke, Quakertown – The senior quarterback completed 14-of-21 pass attempts for 135 yards and one touchdown and provided leadership behind center while leading the Panthers to a 26-17 upset win over conference co-champion Plymouth Whitemarsh.
Third star:  Brandon Taranga, Souderton – The senior running back had a breakout performance with three receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown in addition to eight carries for 73 yards and two touchdowns in Souderton’s 33-15 win over Central Bucks West.

Sterling Limo Defensive Players of the Game:

First star: Mike Glauber, Central Bucks East – The senior middle linebacker was a catalyst on defense in East’s 35-0 win over Pennridge, registering 10 tackles, which included a pair of sacks.
Coach John Donnelly says:  “Mike, like Brian Stella, is an undersized linebacker but overachieves big time. He is currently our leading tackler, and he has willed himself into becoming a very good player for us.”

Second star:  Mike Nicholson, Harry S Truman – The junior safety returned a fumble recovery 43 yards for a touchdown. It was one of several big plays the junior safety – who also had a 40-yard reception - made in the Tigers’ 44-43 win over Bensalem.

Third star:  Nick Blessing, Souderton – The senior linebacker led a standout defensive effort with 11 tackles (one for a loss) in Souderton’s 33-15 win over Central Bucks West.

Sterling Limo Special Teams Players of the Game
First star:  Robbie Tressler, Harry S Truman –
The sophomore backup quarterback was a catalyst in Truman’s 44-43 win over Bensalem, playing a role in three successful two-point conversions – throwing for two and running for the third.
Coach Jon Craig says:  “We’ve done the muddle huddle play for years, but this was a new one we unveiled against Bensalem. Robbie is a smart kid - you teach him to make his own calls out there, and man, he was a difference maker. After we enjoyed the win and celebrated, we looked back and we’re like, ‘Man, that was really important for our game.’ We had a backup kicker, and Robbie Tressler was the backup holder. We said – let’s take the risk, and we’ll teach him well. It was a calculated risk, and it worked out. He’s a great kid. He played a little during the season, but to go in and run those plays confidently is pretty impressive.”

Second star:  Sayyid Saunders, Harry S Truman – Saunders, a junior, returned a kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown in Truman’s 44-43 win over Bensalem.

Third star: Zach Tredway, Neshaminy – The senior kick returner had three returns for 77 yards in Neshaminy’s 35-0 win over Pennsbury.

SOL Honor Roll:
David Akinwande, Harry S Truman –
The junior running back ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns in Truman’s 44-43 win over Bensalem.
Evan Dorsey, Central Bucks East – Dorsey had a big day on special teams for the Patriots, delivering a great tackle on punt coverage early in the game that helped flip the field in East’s 35-0 win over Pennridge.
Chris Edwards, Hatboro-Horsham – The junior quarterback threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 29 more yards to lead the Hatters to a 35-14 win over Cheltenham.
Justin Horn, Upper Dublin – In the Flying Cardinals’ 41-21 win over Upper Moreland, the senior quarterback completed 9-of-18 passes for 105 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for 64 yards on five carries with a 27-yard TD run.
Christian Jabbar, Council Rock South – The junior quarterback threw for 115 yards and a touchdown and effectively ran the Hawks’ option offense in Rock South’s 35-14 win over Council Rock North.

Sam Thompson, Central Bucks South – The senior quarterback accounted for 220 yards in South’s 35-7 win over William Tennent, throwing for 141 yards and a touchdown and rushing for three more TDs.
Reece Udinski, Abington – The senior quarterback threw for 336 yards and four touchdowns in another standout effort to lead the Knights to a 45-7 win over Abington.
