PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Sterling Limo SOL Player of the Week
Jack Lamb, Central Bucks East –
A standout linebacker, Lamb was pressed into emergency duty at quarterback this season due to a rash of injuries. He has delivered on both sides of the ball. In East’s 35-21 win over previously undefeated Quakertown, Lamb had 15 tackles at inside linebacker and also contributed 170 yards of total offense – 93 yards rushing and 77 yards passing.
Coach John Donnelly says:  “I think you will be hard pressed to find another player in the state that is doing what Jack Lamb is doing.  It is one thing to play quarterback and defensive back. It is entirely another thing to play quarterback and Inside linebacker.  Jack had 15 tackles and was all over the field defensively. He also rushed the ball 22 times for 93 yards and was 6-for-6 passing for 77 yards. You also have to keep in mind that up through the fourth game of the season, he was our third string emergency quarterback. (He was playing LB and fullback.)  Jack trained with the quarterbacks through the offseason so he was prepared but more than that he is a major competitor.”

Sterling Limo Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Vince Alimenti, Council Rock South –
In a season of outstanding performances, the senior running back just might have saved his best for last. Alimenti ran for 255 yards and three touchdowns in South’s 40-29 win over archrival Council Rock North in the annual Rock Cup game. Making his performance even more remarkable was the fact that the game was played in inclement weather on a slick field.
Coach Vince Bedesem says:  “Vince's performance in the North game and throughout the season has been extremely successful due to the high level of play of the offensive line, his backfield mates and receivers with their perimeter blocking, and the decision making skills of his quarterback. Vince's success this year is directly correlated with the offseason commitment he endured for the past 12 months. He ranks up there with the best that has ever played here, and more importantly, he’s one of the hardest working players we've had. Vince is a great role model for the future of the program.”

Sterling Limo Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Alex Gibson, Central Bucks East –
The Patriots junior running back – after being sidelined with an injury - returned to the lineup with a vengeance midway through the season. In East’s 35-21 win over Continental Conference champion Quakertown, he had 220 yards rushing, including a dazzling touchdown run in the second half that swung momentum firmly in the Patriots’ favor.
Coach John Donnelly says:  “Alex Gibson only played in five games this season due to injury but what a difference he makes.  In the Quakertown game, he ran the ball 22 times for 220 yards and a TD.  As he came off the field after he scored, I told him that was the best run I ever saw (although I said the same thing last year after a run he had against Souderton).  This one was better though...a defender had him lined up in the hole, and Alex spun, causing the defender to miss, and then he proceeded to make several other players miss, weaving across the field for a 44-yard score. My description doesn't do it justice. It was unbelievable. Alex and Jack (Lamb) are both captains this year and thankfully are only juniors. Alex is ultra-talented, hard working, and competitive, and that is what allows him to be one of the best running backs in Suburban One.”

Sterling Limo Defensive Player of the Week
Blake Gular, Souderton  –
On a night that saw four Souderton players contribute 10 tackles or more, the junior linebacker led the charge. He finished the night with 13 tackles (one for a loss) and was a key in Souderton’s fourth quarter goal line stand that preserved the win. Offensively, he also contributed, carrying the ball 10 times for 61 yards and a touchdown.
Coach Ed Gallagher says:  “Blake Gular is one of our best athletes/football players. He has shown flashes of excellent play on both sides of the ball throughout the season, but Friday night was the first time that he had consistent success on both sides of the ball. It has been tough for Blake (and a few of our other players) to do so because they're playing both ways, but I was thrilled to see him play like that and help his team earn a victory against a playoff team on Friday night.”

SuburbanOneSports.com Honor Roll:
Nik Banks, William Tennent, had a big night in the Panthers’ 47-0 rout of Dobbins, accumulating 281 yards – 152 and two TDs on the ground and 129 and a TD in the air.
Matt Magdelinskas, Neshaminy, rushed for 176 yards in Neshaminy’s 17-3 loss to Pennsbury.
North Penn's front four of Keith Earle, Andrew Thomas, Kevin Vandenplas and Nick Vascar were key in the Knights' 28-0 shutout of Abington that saw the foursome combine for seven tackles for a loss and two sacks in a dominant effort.
Dave Nuckles, Neshaminy, contributed eight solo tackles, three assists and one caused fumble in the Redskins' 17-3 loss to Pennsbury. Making the performance especially noteworthy was the fact that the junior defensive back found out he was starting just 90 minutes before kickoff.
Brendan Patterson, Council Rock South, rushed for 115 yards and three touchdowns in the Golden Hawks’ 40-29 win over Council Rock North. All three of his TDs came in the opening half.
Charles Snorweah, Pennsbury, rushed for a game-high 179 yards and one touchdown in the Falcons’ 17-3 win over Neshaminy.
Casey Walsh, Hatboro-Horsham, had another huge game in the Hatters’ 35-27 win over Cheltenham, completing 19 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns.
