STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORATION
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Sterling Limo SOL Defensive Players of the Week

Nick Tarburton, Mark Funk & Alex Schmidt (Photo l-r), Pennridge– Tarburton, Funk and Schmidt were the catalysts in a stellar defensive effort in Pennridge’s critical 17-7 win over Neshaminy. The swarming Ram defense limited the potent Redskins to a meager 31 yards on the ground.  Tarburton, a sophomore, led the way with five tackles, three assists, one tackle for a loss and one sack. Funk added two tackles – both for a loss, two assists and one pass deflection while Schmidt had two tackles, two assists, one tackle for a loss and two sacks.
Coach Jeff Hollenbach says:  “These three, among the rest of the defense, played an outstanding game against a very good offensive team. To be able to hold (Neshaminy) to 31 total rushing yards was a credit to the effort and preparation of these young men.”

Sterling Limo SOL Offensive Player of the Week
Jamar White, Souderton – White rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass to fuel the Big Red offense in a 48-0 victory over Bensalem.  All four of White’s touchdowns came in the first period.
Coach Ed Gallagher says:  “Jamar has really developed into a complete back for us. He’s a good runner with excellent vision, a very good receiver, and his blocking has greatly improved. He seems to be gaining confidence with each passing week, and I’m looking forward to him finishing the season strong.”

Sterling Limo Players of the Week SOL Continental Conference
Noah Hill & Sal Tossona, Central Bucks West – Hill and Tossona, both senior defensive tackles, led a standout effort by the Bucks that limited a shorthanded Truman squad to less than 100 yards of total offense in a 27-0 win that upped the Bucks’ record in conference play to 2-0. Hill led the Bucks with 11 tackles, including five for a loss. Tossona had six tackles and a fumble recovery.
Coach Chas Cathers says:  “Truman is a very good team. They run that option attack, and you have to really be disciplined. We practiced all week staying disciplined and making sure everyone knew their roles and assignments. When we came out, the conditions weren’t the greatest, and those two guys up front really stepped up to meet the challenge. They thrived on the weather, and they just had a fun time out there.
“Those two have been really working hard at practice developing their skills. They’re starting to put it all together, and I’m really excited about what they can do. They’ve been great leaders on the defense and controlling the line of scrimmage. We hope they can have continued success.”

Sterling Limo Player of the Week SOL National Conference
Justin Ostopowicz, North Penn – Ostopowicz carried the ball 16 times for 130 yards and two touchdowns as the Knights marched to a 42-26 victory over Central Bucks South. It was his 55-yard run in the third quarter that set up a touchdown to all but seal the Titans’ fate after they threatened to get back in the game. Ostopowicz was moved into the starting role when standout senior running back Nyfease West did not play due to injury.
Coach Dick Beck says:  “Justin is sometimes playing second fiddle to Nyfease, but it’s a good change up when he comes in the game – we don’t lose a step. He’s such a hard runner, he’s tough, he has a great vision, he’s fast, and he does a lot of good things for us. I knew we wouldn’t lose a beat, plus all year Justin’s been playing so well for us on defense (at safety and corner), and he’s on the kickoff team and the kickoff return team, so he definitely got a lot of work last week.”
