Sterling Limousine Players of the Game (Wk 11)

Sterling Limousine and Transportation Services of Wrightstown is proud to recognize the Players of the Week for each conference. Players are chosen based on the nomination of coaches.

Sterling Limousine Offensive Players of the Week  - Offensive Line (Declan Mandeville, Connor Steele, Anders Warfel, Shane Dortone, Cooper O’Connell, Jonathan Healy, Brian Miller, Dan Crecca), Central Bucks West.
Behind a standout performance from their offensive line, the Bucks piled up over 500 yards of total offense, led by the 230-yard rushing performance of Marvin Todd, in their 50-26 opening round district win over Plymouth Whitemarsh.
Coach Brian Hensel says:  “The first thing Marvin (Todd) said – and he’s always very complimentary – was, ‘The guys up front were doing a great job.’ Whether he was being gratuitous or not, he was right this week. John Fitz, our quarterback, has not been touched in the backfield but once in the last five games. It’s kind of nice to go back in the pocket and not get sacked. They’ve done a great job. With those eight guys, there’s been constant competition. When two guys are battling for a spot, you never know how it’s going to be. Is it going to ruin a friendship? Are they going to go soft on each other, and you’re not going to get the most out of them as a coach? It was slow going at first, but it’s become very competitive, but at the same time, there’s still a strong camaraderie between the eight guys. They’re starting to jell, and they’re having fun playing the game. As a result of that, they’re even tighter as a group. The fun part has been watching these guys grow as a group.
“Playing on the offensive line is tough. To a casual observer, four out of five guys could be doing a perfect job, one guy breaks down, and the answer is, ‘The offensive line can’t block.’ It’s very rare in any sport where one guy could go wrong, and the whole entire group of guys gets the blame for it.”

Sterling Limousine Defensive Player of the Week – Denny Lord, Neshaminy High School
The Redskins allowed just seven points in their 41-7 opening round district win over Unionville. Lord led the defense with eight solo tackles, one interception and one pass breakup.

Coach Mark Schmidt says:  "Denny made several big plays in crucial situations against Unionville. During the last four or five weeks, he has really stepped to the forefront as a leader on defense.  Denny's ability to make our calls and adjustments will be critical as we face a Spring-Ford offense that is more diverse than anything we've seen this year."

Sterling Limousine Special Teams Player of the Week – Jordan Neely, Abington High School
The junior wide receiver ran two straight kick offs back for touchdowns to open Abington’s district first round game against Upper Dublin. His first one – on the opening play of the game – was for 85 yards, and the second was for 90 yards after the Flying Cardinals trimmed Abington’s lead to 6-3.
Coach Tim Sorber says:  “Jordan has been a two-way starter at wide receiver and cornerback. He has made several big plays this year on both sides of the ball. His two runbacks were the spark to a 55-25 victory over Upper Dublin. Jordan is a three-sport athlete at Abington and was a major contributor to the 2012-13 Abington. championship basketball team. He also runs track. He is a junior with a tremendous upside if he hits the weight room in the offseason.”
