PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Rylan Zuk, Souderton – The Indians’ senior kicker is a difference maker on the gridiron. In Souderton’s 23-21 win over then previously unbeaten Central Bucks East, Zuk’s 23-yard field goal late in the game gave the Indians a 23-21 lead that stood until the final horn. He also had field goals of 42 and 40 yards and three extra points, accounting for 12 of Souderton’s 23 points. He had five kickoffs for 298 yards (including four touchbacks) and one punt for 39 yards.
Coach Ed Gallagher says: “Rylan Zuk really came through – he was confident. He sometimes gets down on himself because he’s a little bit inconsistent, but he’s got a really strong leg. We were blessed last year to have two outstanding kickers. Ty (Quintois) kicked off and did field goals, Rylan punted, and they alternated extra points. Neither missed an extra point all year. He’s a really good kicker. This is his year where he’s doing all three.”
