Tri-Township State Championship has SOL Ties

Numerous SOL athletes were members of the Tri-Township Babe Ruth squad that captured the Pennsylvania state title.

The Tri-Township Babe Ruth 16-18 year-old team captured the Pennsylvania State Championship on Sunday at Christman Field in Lehighton. The state tournament started last Thursday. Tri-Township, which represented Bucks County, compiled a perfect 4-0 record. In the final game, Tri-Township rallied for a come-from-behind 7-4 win, scoring seven runs in the seventh inning.

Tri-Township moves on to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament in Princeton, NJ with the team’s first game Wednesday at 4 p.m.
