Univest Recognizes Wissahickon Featured Athletes

Univest Corporation has partnered with SuburbanOneSports.com to recognize close to 500 Univest Featured Athletes over the years. On June 3, Univest visited Wissahickon to recognize four of its students. For additional information about the services provided by Univest, please visit the web site: www.Univest.net.

Wissahickon seniors Jason Caso, Cole Kropnick, Brianna Miles and Anna Chiodo Ortiz were recognized for their selection as Univest Featured Athletes.

Nicole O’Neil, on behalf of Univest, presented certificates of recognition and gift bags to the four student-athletes.

“I’m very excited to be here to honor four of your outstanding student-athletes,” said O’Neil, Public Relations and Social Media Manager. “At Univest, we firmly believe in giving back to the communities we serve, and through our partnership with SuburbanOneSports, we are able to recognize the hard work students, coaches and administration put into making their athletic programs a success in our area.

“Community is one of the core values at Univest, and through our Committed to Local philanthropic giving program, last year we donated $1.2 million to the local communities, and nearly half of that went to educational initiatives.

“We know it’s through extracurricular activities such as athletics that schools are able to cultivate their sense of community and engage with students in a meaningful way beyond the classroom.

“Each of these student-athletes has earned respect on and off the field, and we know this was not done alone. We also want to acknowledge the families, coaches and teachers that supported them throughout this season.”

SuburbanOneSports.com has recognized close to 500 seniors of high character over the years. It is only through the web site’s longstanding partnership with Univest that it is possible to tell the stories of these remarkable student-athletes.

“We were extremely happy to take part,” Wissahickon Principal Lyn Fields said. “It is always special to recognize our students. We are grateful to Univest, and I am happy (we) had a chance to participate.”
