Inside Football with Chris Felton (Wk 12)

Look for Chris Felton’s weekly columns over the course of the football season. Felton, who is providing color on WNPV 1440 AM’s high school football broadcasts, boasts 10 years of coaching experience at the high school level and two years at the collegiate level. Felton spent eight years coaching at Central Bucks West and one year each at Pennridge and Central Bucks East. He also had coaching stints at Delaware Valley College and Gettysburg College. In his weekly column, Felton will not only be sharing his insights into the game itself but also attempting to familiarize fans with the game.

Random thoughts. . .

Both Neshaminy and North Penn did a terrific job representing the SOL with convincing wins on the road.  I covered the North Penn Bayard Rustin game, and I was extremely impressed with the North Penn offensive line, how the team responded to injuries, and how they got defensive in the second half.  I love how they NEVER FLINCH!!!!

I cannot wait to cover the latest installment of the Neshaminy – North Penn saga.  Two great programs that know each other inside and out, two programs that are currently playing their best football, and the two top programs in District 1.

Now for the rest of the SOL to do its job!  North Penn and Neshaminy held up their end, and now CB South, CR South, and Pennsbury - it’s your turn to show the region that although the Chest-Mont league is good- WE ARE BETTER!!!  I predict a clean sweep this weekend.  Go get ‘em. I’m pulling for you all.

The results from last weekend weakened one argument and strengthened another.  If we had only an eight-team playoff system, North Penn, Pennsbury, Neshaminy, and CB South wouldn’t have had the opportunity to prove that they belong.  The top teams in District One wouldn’t have been invited.  Another argument is for a seeding committee.  I think that topic can get a bit controversial, but last week is a new arrow in their argument quiver.

Have a system!!!!  I’ll say it for a third time this year - teams that have a system win.  Teams that have an adaptable system win every year.

Good luck, Good Week, Good Football
