By the Numbers

9 – Total wins for William Tennent so far this season, three more than the Panthers compiled in 22 games last year.

17 – Consecutive wins to start off the season for Archbishop Ryan, a program record.

501 – Career wins for Notre Dame coach, Mary Beth McNichol, who is in her 27th season with the Irish.

What to Watch For

The race for the regular season Philadelphia Catholic League title, and subsequent top seed in the playoffs, will go through 6-0 Neumann-Goretti. Right behind the Saints is a pair of 7-1 teams – Archbishop Wood and Archbishop Ryan, while three teams have two league losses – Archbishop Carroll, Bonner-Prendergast, and Cardinal O’Hara.

So far this season, Goretti has beaten fellow perennial powerhouses Wood, O’Hara, and Carroll. On Friday, N-G faces off against the Ragdolls, which could end up deciding the number one seed heading into the postseason.

The last two remaining undefeated teams in Southeastern Pa. are Spring-Ford in the Pioneer Athletic Conference and Jenkintown from Bicentennial Athletic League. The Rams have gotten off to a 15-0 start, while the Drakes are 14-0.

In Spring-Ford’s way could be Perkiomen Valley, who has won 11 of their last 12. The two will play tomorrow, at the home of the Vikings.

After an 0-2 start, the Patriots of Central Bucks East have turned some heads, recently handing Central Buck South its first loss of the season and going to double overtime with Souderton
