NSR HELPS SOL ATHLETES GET RECRUITED

National Scouting Report, the world’s oldest and largest high school scouting and college recruiting organization, is on the ground in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Directed by Gary Silvers, former Executive Sports Editor of the Bucks County Courier Times, and Phil Andrews, former Action News and Comcast SportsNet sports anchor, NSR of Southeastern PA helps qualified high school student-athletes connect with college coaches on all levels (NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and NJCAA) and earn scholarships.

About 95 percent of those qualified student-athletes not only play in college, but also earn athletic and academic scholarships, changing their lives and saving their families tens of thousands of dollars.

Established in 1980, NSR receives dozens of daily requests from college coaches seeking prospects in all sports. NSR scouts in six countries – U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia, New Zealand and Nicaragua – try to find them, scout them and qualify them for coaches.

After an in-home interview with an NSR representative, qualified prospects and their families can take advantage of the company’s 19-phase exposure program, which connects the student-athletes with college coaches across the country and, in most cases, leads to scholarship offers.

“We like to work with student-athletes as early as possible – primarily freshmen, sophomores and juniors,” said Silvers, who oversees scouting in Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia counties. “Our scouts guide them through the entire recruiting process.”

Silvers said he personally focuses on Suburban One League athletes, with whom he is most familiar. As Executive Sports Editor of the Courier Times from 1995-2008, he oversaw the coverage of seven SOL schools in Bucks County and their SOL opponents.

“The SOL is one of the best conferences in Pennsylvania,” said Silvers, whose two sons graduated from Council Rock South High School. “If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.”
