NSR HELPS SOL ATHLETES GET RECRUITED

National Scouting Report, the world’s oldest and largest high school scouting and college recruiting organization, is back on the ground for the 2016-17 school year.

Directed by Gary Silvers, former Executive Sports Editor of the Bucks County Courier Times, NSR of Southeastern PA has been helped dozens of Suburban One League student-athletes in all sports connect with college coaches (NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and NJCAA) and receive offers.

About 95 percent of NSR’s prospects not only play in college, but also earn athletic and/or academic scholarships, changing their lives and saving their families tens of thousands of dollars in college expenses.

NSR, which is celebrating its 37th anniversary, already has received hundreds of requests from college coaches seeking 2017-20 prospects in all sports. NSR’s 200 national and international scouts evaluate, interview and qualify those prospects for college coaches.

“We like to work with student-athletes as early as possible -- primarily freshmen, sophomores and juniors -- because college coaches start recruiting so early,” said Silvers, who oversees scouting in Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia counties. “We also can help seniors who have been overlooked. Not only do we promote them to college coaches, we guide them and their families through the entire recruiting process.”

Silvers focuses on Suburban One League athletes, with whom he is most familiar. As Executive Sports Editor of the Courier Times from 1995-2008, he oversaw the newspaper’s coverage of all SOL sports.

“The SOL is one of the best conferences in Pennsylvania,” said Silvers, a 20-year Bucks County resident whose two sons graduated from Council Rock South High School. “If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.”
