Abington Trio to Play Collegiate Lacrosse

On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, Abington seniors Ryan Fetzer, Cameron Leech and Joe Lomady were recognized at a special college signing event for committing to play lacrosse at the collegiate level. Ryan Fetzer – Lycoming College (Lacrosse)
Defense, 6-0, 190 lbs.

Lycoming, Marywood, Albright
The scoop:  Ryan received second team all-league SOL National Conference honors as a junior and senior. He was a letter winner on the boys’ lacrosse team that won three straight SOL National Conference championships and made three appearances in the District 1 playoffs.
Most memorable moment at Abington:  Beating Ridley
Favorite class:  Forensics with Mr. Cragle
Career choice:  Police Officer
Most played song on iPod:  “Monster”
People might be surprised to know that: “I have a bearded dragon.”

“Ryan led the Abington defense in 2015 as our best close defender. He is a strong on-ball defender who has excellent stick skills and great field sense.”

Cameron Leech – York College (Lacrosse)
Attackman, 5-10, 155 lbs.

The scoop:  Cam was a member of the three-time SOL National Conference champions with the Ghosts also winning a District 1 playoff game in each of those three seasons. A 2015 US Lacrosse All-American, Cam shattered the school record for single season points, breaking the record of 131 points set in 1976. He earned first team All-SOL National Conference recognition as a junior and senior. Cam also serves as a coach for the Abington Lacrosse Club’s 13U team.
Most memorable moment at Abington:  Beating Ridley for the first time in eight years.
Favorite class:  Math
Career choice:  A teacher
Most played song on iPod:  “Oh My” by the Partysquad and Boaz van de Beatz
People might be surprised to know that:  “My middle name, Troy, is after Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman.”

“Cameron broke a number of Abington records in 2015, including the all-time record for points scored in a season, totaling 147 goals and assists. Not only is Leech a superior goal scorer, but he is excellent at setting up his teammates for success.”

Joe Lomady – York College (Lacrosse)
Midfielder, 5-9, 180
The scoop: 
Joe is a three-time SOL National Conference first team all-league selection. As a senior, he was named to the All Eastern Pennsylvania Coaches Association Team. The midfielder and faceoff specialist was a vital part of the ‘three-peating’ SOL National Conference chamipons. The Ghosts also appeared in the District 1 playoffs all four of Joe’s varsity career.
Most memorable moment at Abington:  Coming back to play after my shoulder injury.
Favorite class:  Physics of Engineering and Design with Ms. Lacy
Career choice:  Mechanical Engineer
Most played son on iPod:  “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band

“Joe is the definition of a ‘throwback’ midfielder. He is a very tough young man who excels in all aspects of the game at the midfield position. Joe was the team's best face-off midfielder, our best defensive midfielder, and our best offensive threat at the midfield position.”
