George Jacob – Eastern University (Baseball)

Final list of colleges:  Eastern, Wilson, Neumann

Reasons for choosing Eastern:  “Eastern was such a good fit because it’s a half hour away. It’s close, but I can get away from home and get the full college experience, and I could also go home weekends and visit my parents.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level?  “I got on a travel team that was mainly for recruiting, so I started early. I started traveling and trying to get recruited when I was around 13 years old. I’ve just been working so hard, and I’m finally able to go to college and play the game I love.”

Coach Jon Morrissette says:  “I think the thing that made George exceptional his senior year was he did great at everything we asked him to do. He played an excellent first base for us, he pitched very well for us in some big situations, and he was probably our most consistent hitter. He was in many ways our most consistent player throughout the season. He’s a good kid. I had him in class last year, and he was one of those kids who was fun to have in class – a nice kid, cooperative, did what he had to do.”
