Bernard to Play Field Hockey at Longwood

On Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, Neshaminy senior Lauren Bernard was recognized at a special news conference for signing a letter of intent to play field hockey at Longwood University.

Lauren Bernard – Longwood University (Field Hockey)

Major:  Biology

Final list of colleges:  Longwood, Drexel, Temple

Reasons for choosing Longwood:  “I liked the small atmosphere, and mainly, I really liked the field hockey program. They also had a really great bio program there, and the school is beautiful.”

What was the progression that led you to playing field hockey at the collegiate level?  “I started playing club hockey with Mystx six or seven years ago, and my sophomore year I decided I really loved it and really wanted to keep going with it.”

Coach Caitlyn Kocczynski says:  “Lauren is a dedicated team player and will be a great asset to the college she is attending.”
