Kyle Bigam – Susquehanna University (Football)

Major:  Business

Final list of colleges:  Susquehanna, Widener, Delaware Valley

Reasons for choosing Susquehanna:  “I just thought I fit in well with the players, and when I went on my overnight, it kind of clicked. The night before I went to (another school), and it didn’t seem like it clicked. I went to Susquehanna, and I had a blast.  It kind of came down to the players – there was a good connection.”

When was the progression that led you to playing collegiate football?  “I guess I always wanted to play in college. Even as a kid growing up playing Green Jackets, it was always a dream – oh, I’m going to the NFL, like every other kid. But then I hit reality in 11th grade when I sprained my ankle, and I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to have to work 10 times harder now.’ Going into 12th grade, I knew I was going to have to have a good year to be able to get into college, and I realized I really wanted to play.”

Coach Randy Cuthbert says: “Kyle is a guy who can do a lot of things. He was a jack of all trades. He can block, he can run, and he can catch. Defensively, he played outside back, he played safety, he played corner, and he did returns. He can do it all. As far as what we did on offense, he was our big play guy. When Mike (Class) wasn’t carrying the ball, he made a ton of huge plays. In the North Penn game, he had an unbelievable catch. His first team all-league was well deserved. People recognized how important he was to us, not always with the stats. He was a great perimeter blocker, and he’s another guy that did it all. He kind of embodied that senior class. They were unselfish and worked hard. I think that’s a big reason why they were successful.”
