Evan Dorsey – Widener University (Football)

Major:  Business

Final list of colleges:  Widener, McDaniel, West Chester, Albright, Wesley

Reasons for choosing Widener:  “I really liked the coaching staff, I really liked the academic part of the school, and I liked the football aspect.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level?  “I kind of decided pretty late. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to at first, but I thought I would miss it if I didn’t play. I was really leaning toward playing my junior year, and then as this year rolled around, I was like – ‘I don’t know if I’m really feeling it anymore. I don’t know if I want to.’ Probably in January I decided I’m going to play.”

Coach John Donnelly says:  “Evan Dorsey was a four-year varsity player here at CB East, which is a rarity. He was a lead-by-example kind of player, but with that being said, he was still respected enough by his teammates to be elected captain his senior year. He was highly productive, even going back to his sophomore year as a special teams player and on the defensive side of the ball. He will be dearly missed for his work ethic, drive and leadership. We wish him all the best at Widener. He’s going to knock it out of the park!”
