Sam Grzegorczyk – Temple University (Field Hockey)

Major:  Kinesiology

Final list of colleges:  Temple, Indiana, Drexel, Richmond

Reasons for choosing Temple:  “I liked the what they had for academics, and I liked their pre-med program. I liked Temple for academics before field hockey, and then I saw their team playing my sophomore year, and I really liked their team aspect – how their team is friendly and really cares for each other and looks out for each other. I thought it would be a good program to go to.”

What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate field hockey?  “I switched to playing goalie my freshman year – I was a field player to begin with. I played for a club team named Mystx, and I did a lot of different tournaments and festivals with them, so I got a wider range of seeing the level I could play at. I liked it and I wanted to continue to play after high school.”

Coach Brittany Kocis says:  “Sam is the type of athlete every coach wants. She always works hard and leaves her heart on the field every time she suits up. Not only is she talented, she is also a team player that always picks up her fellow teammates to make them better. Her positive attitude, determination and passion make her a key factor on any team she's part of.”
